Could you please say what model is your monitor?

Computer on but screen wont come on

but are you hearing any start up sound when you turn on your pc? check if its the monitor/lcd or the videocard is the one having problems, try to hook a known good external monitor2_bing.gif. if it has the same bad display, its the videocard. if it has good display, then the lcd2_bing.gif/monitor is the part you need to replace.

Black screen on startup. The monitor is okay, but remains off when I boot up my acer m1610. I can hear one bop (means okay) and run, but without video. Sometimes it runs with with video, sometimes not......

Does the monitor give picture and stay on when connected to another pc? Also, does the monitor function properly in safe mode? If so, your video adapter may be set to display a resolution beyond the capabilities of your monitor. try this:
  1. Download the latest drivers for your videocard but do not install it yet.
  2. Boot into safe mode and uninstall any video card/driver software installed on your pc
  3. Go to device manager, expand video adapters, right click on all video adapters and uninstall (uninstall driver too if prompted)
  4. Reboot normally. If you followed the above steps correctly, the pc will automatically re-detect your video card and install a generic driver for it.
  5. Now install the video drivers you downloaded in step 1.
  6. That should do it. Let me know if this works or not.

Monitor problem philips 170c 17" powers up shows pic for short time screen go's blank green light stays on can any 1 help thanks

it may be a problem with the playback of your monitor or just the pins at the back of the tube of your monitor. but first check your videocard. check the connections or uninstall the card, clean the contact points of your videocard and install it again.
