Cant switch on pc but power light is on? - Computers & Internet

    Suggestion is to first bypass the Power On switch. This way if the PSU (Power Supply Unit) comes on you know it was a bad Power On switch. If the PSU doesn't come on you know it's a bad power supply. Should the power supply come on, and the computer does not, it's time to check the power supply. If you wish to know how to bypass the Power On switch, and also how to test the power supply, just state so in a Comment. (Believe it's to the upper right of your page)

U r saying dat ur pc power light is on but u can't see anything in ur monitor. am i rite? if i m rite then i hv 2 suggestion for u. make sure ur monitor wire is having power on and is connected properly wid the pc

Switches arnt not detectable by the computer, a switch allows you to link multiple pcs togethers that sit on the same domain/workgroup , and also network subnet, the other lights will come one when you connect a RJ45 cable between the unit and a PC to show a port is in use.

Normal shut down on pc, now it will not power up.
if you can figure out what pins your power switch is plugged into you can try and bypass the switch as for the power supply itself i know theres a way to trick it and boot just the power supply but i cant remember what pins on the plug it is try and google the power plug layout it should tell you what pins to connect to boot it

It is problem with your laptop's SMPS ie. Switched Mode Power Supply.

Due to which your laptop can't get regulated power supply neither from Power Cord nor from Battery.

Yes, your LED will show charging but its useless because your laptop's Mother Board Chip is not getting power.

So please ask some hardware engineer to replace it.

Cant Open My Pc Even Though the power supply is OK
had this problem the other day, when i was running my pc... When I turned it on,,, the lights on the switch on blinked and my pc runned for only 1 second then i started reconnecting things like the MEMORY CARd the proccerssor the power cables everthing and when i tried it again,, it worked but then suddenly my monitor's light behind its switch are blinking and i turned my cpu on and off then... after the fifth time i am turning my pc.. it does not turn on. My power supply is working because i tested it on the other computer.. I cant Figure out my problem so please help me..

Laptop needs rebooting
Im using the advent 4211-b and its flawless.small,light ,looks good has all you need built in and also has choice at startup windows or recovery.cant fault it.if you cant reboot.press power ,get as far as you get ,press and hold power button til switch off press power button again to restart(boot)if youre already in windows and cant shut down or reboot do the same.as long as you dont turn off and unplug no damage to the system will occur.

Need help
the pin arrangement is 4 pins and pins.
From left top row (4 pins) first 2 are power led, next 2 are power switch, next 1 is empty
from left bottom row ( 5 pins ) first 2 are hdd, next 2 are reset, next 1 is empty.
The connectors for the power led and the hdd produce a light, if they don't produce a light, power off your pc and switch the cables round the other way and power on again.

EMachines not powering up
You may have updated windows to a point that this old machine cant handle the revamp. Kick back to an older ops system, although that poses security risks. Your motherboard may also have given up. Best advice - upgrade, and retire this machine to the recycle bin.
