Hello,

You may find the belt for your vacuum through the link below. Unfortunately the only way that Shark sells this belt is with both belts as a set, you can not purchase each indiviudal belt separately.

I have also uploaded the instruction manual for your vacuum in a .pdf file on Fixya. Please note that it may take sometimes up to 24 hours for the manual to show up. Please check the following link over the next 24 hours. This instruction manual gives you step by step instructions on how to replace the belt, and also contains diagrams that will help you follow along.

Here's the link where the instruction manual will be downloaded. The belt change instructions are on page 15:
http://www.sharkclean.com/manual/NV31_REV_0706.pdf

Here's the set of belts that go on the Euro-Pro Infinity Upright model NV31, Shark Part Number 1085F:

I hope this was helpful to you in solving your belt problems. If this was helpful please rate the repair helpful by clicking on the thumbs up icons in the top right hand corner of the repair.

Thank you very much,

Chris Jones

The brush has stopped rotating so vacume won't pick up anything.

Without knowing the brand and model number, I can't assist too much. However, most all of them have a belt that turns the rotating brushes or "beater bar".

It looks like a large black rubber band, and does wear out at times causing this condition. It would be located under a removable panel on the bottom of the unit.

It makes a squeaking/scraping sound when you stand it upright while machine is turned on. Only way we can use it is to keep the machine tilted back. The release lever is broken in that the vacuum tilts...

Check belt and roller or take it for vacum tuneup. Tune ups are real cheap, like $20 and they will adjust, replace belt and clean. Well worth it as it is a great quality vac

Majestic filter queen vacums

Your belt is either stretched or the wrong size or the brush bushings are worn and allowing the brush to wobble or the motor is loose in its housing. You need to check all.
Rotate the brush and try to wobble it from the pulley end.
Flip the belt inside out, it if appears cupped, cracked or shiney and slips easily on and off the brush it is stretched. Generally this unit needs anew belt evrey 6 months, broken or not, they get hot and stretch. Do not buy a new belt by matching size, a worn belt can be 20-30% oversized and not broken but totally useless.
The motor shaft should be cleaned with W/D 600 grit sand paper. Motor should have no wobble in the shaft

Our vacum isn't picking up @ all.we did have some thread around the brushes, about an inch wide. it has an odor like it is getting hot. the vacumn is about 1-1/2 yrs old. we need help. thanks BETTY COX.

Hi, The most likely cause would be a blockage. If you remove vac hose, does it **** on your hand? secondly, with the vac unplugged, Can you turn the brush reasonably freely ? Is the drive belt on?

Kirby Vaccuum Cleaner:

likely a broken belt. turn vac over and see if roller turns free. if it does the belt is broken. turn the handle on front of vac. turn latch under headlight and remove head. open bottom plate and return handle to normal position. belt and brush roll will lift out. reverse procedure to install. directions are usually printed on the head of vac under headlight.

Belt is broken

Most upright vacuums will have 2 screws on the bottom of the vacuum. Remove both screws and snap off bottom cover to get inside of the head. Remove old / broken belt and slide agitator off from the head unit. Stretch new belt with both hands then place around the agitator and pulley coming out of the motor. Place the agitator back into place (there will be some resistance from the new belt, but that is common). Put back on the bottom cover and place back the screws. You should be all set then. Hopefully this helps.
