    idont now how to do

  • DJ_Petrus Jan 28, 2009

i keep getting DNS error too, so i tried doing a wired connection to the back of my modem with an ethernet cable, yet i still get the DNS error, and no connection to the internet.
the DNS number i enter is correct, i hav checked 100 times, so i have been wondering if the DNS number changes when you get a new modem, since i have recently had a newer modem installed.
is the DNS number something that your broadband server gives you when you get a new modem or is it something you're stuck with?
    im sick of typing DNS

I got my DNS from command prompt by typing in "ipconfig /all" and looking at my DNS servers...

If there is another way to look up your DNS, plz tell me.. I have the same problems as everyone else.

I have the same problem as everyone here... I locate my DNS by going to command prompt and typing in 'ipconfig /all' and looking up my DNS server. I have a wired internet connection and my PS3 was one of the first ones ever made so it is a 20G and does not have WI-FI.

If there is another way to look up your DNS server, please post a solution.

OK, so i just went through this whole deal and its actually not too hard, and i gaurentee you will never have to do it again...
1) hook your ps3 as a wired connection to your router, you may need to go buy a really long cable to do this if you cant move your router in distance.
2) connect it automatically through the setup and it should work fine and connect, if not then i think your fucked.
3) go to network setting > setting and connection status list, write down all the info you can which is shows.
4) unplug the LAN cable, and go back to wireless setup.
5) do a manual setup for IP settings, and type in all the info you have, but DONT type in a WEP or WPA... EVEN IF YOU KNOW YOU HAVE ONE (mine has one but i didnt need it, but if it doesnt work the first time then hell try your passkey)
6) click enter and test connection and it should work!!
hope this helps cuz i see alot of people asking the same question and i had to spend 3 hours figuring it out for myself.

If you are getting dns error that could mean that tour PS3 is not connected to your router. If you are connecting wireless, make sure that the PS3 is able to find and connect to your wireless network. If your wireless network is secured, the PS3 will ask you to enter your network key. Once you have successfully connected to the wireless network your PS3 will now have an ip address from the router and you can connect to the internet.NO MORE DNS ERROR

How do i solve the DNS error 80710102

It seems like the DNS error is generally caused by problems on your ISP's end of the network, but that doesn't mean you can't have a crack at fixing it yourself.

Under your network connection settings try changing the DNS servers to the following numbers (they're free by the way)

Primary DNS 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS 208.67.220.220

Also, try disabling media server connection as well. These simple steps should, in 90% of cases, fix the problem.

I've written a more in-depth guide to the causes of, and solutions to the DNS error- check it out here http://searchwarp.com/swa641197-Ps3-Dns-Error-80710102-Troubleshooting.htm
