Question about SanDisk Sansa m240 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Problem saving I can't seem to simply drag and drop mp3 files from my computer to the folder inside the player. I tried copying and pasting several files at once. Some made it but others had error reports that told me that the file was either non-existent or in use. For no reason at all (it seems) it will allow some files to be copied onto it and other files not.

HOW DO I UPLOAD MUSIC TO MY MP3 PLAYER

Hello Elizabeth,

To transfer music to your player, connect your Coby MP600 to your computer using the supplied USB cable.

Once connected, your computer will automatically recognize the player as a Removable Disk.

??To open the player to view files, double-click the icon that appears.

Once you have opened the player's folder, simply drag and drop files to the player as you would a floppy disk.

??Copy music files to the root directory.

??Copy movie files to the "MOVIE.DIR" folder

??Copy photo files to the "PHOTO.DIR" folder

??Copy text files to the "TEXT.DIR" folder.

After copying the files, disconnect it properly and you are done.

I hope this helped you.

You can rate my answer if you appreciate my help.

Thanks!

I have a Coby MP620. It says to drag and drop files to the music.dir folder but I have no such folder. I have the movie, photo and text files but no music. I have no idea what to do next.

When your MP3 Player is connected to a computer, you may transfer music files to your MP3 player using your operating system's basic file management commands (i.e., copy-and-paste or drag-and-drop).Connect the Coby MP3 player to your computer through its USB adapter. Select "Open folder to view files" from the new device dialog box that pops up. If the new device dialog does not appear upon the hardware's connection, click "Start," click "My Computer" and right-click the Coby MP3 player's device icon in Windows Explorer .Click "Start," click "My Music" and open the folder containing the music you wish to transfer onto the Coby MP3 player. Drag and drop the music files or folders into the Coby MP3 player's open directory. Alternatively, you can highlight the music files or folders and click the "Copy the selected" link from the Files and Folders Tasks menu in the left column. Select the "Removable Disk" drive from the list of destinations.

Can't copy file from computer to MP3 player

In any windows program, you should be able to go to My Computer, double click the icon for the extra drive, it may show up as an external usb device, rather than tight clicking and choosing copy, try dragging the itunes folder to the new destination, i.e. your usb device.

The problem is the files.
What I'm doing right now is going through the files, cutting and pasting the individual mp3 files (Not the folders) to a temp file, deleting the artist and album folders from the player, and cutting and pasting them back into the player.
This is very labour intensive.
The player will look at how many folders (artist) sub-folders (album) then songs. When it hits 500 it stops looking. I had about 100 artists with several albums for most. It would only list 2 songs. I've deleted several artists (and sub-directories) and copied the songs onto the player (no folders) now I'm up to about 20 songs.
The "easiest" way to load the player is to copy/paste individual mp3's onto the player.
I'm looking for a firmware upgrade but I don't think I'll find one. The players seem to be made by Curtis International ( www.curtisinst.com )

When i connect joybee in my pc, i can not see my files

umm are your files on the mp3 players hard drive or on an SD card?

if they are on the harddrive, plug the usb cable into computer and mp3player, go to 'My Computer' there should be a new drive found called Joybee '130 (E,F,G,etc:)' double click this drive, withinn the drive should be three folders, FMRadio, MICIN, and MP3, double click mp3, drag and drop (or copy-paste) the mp3 files into the folder and you should be good.

If your files are on an SD card, you will need an SD cardreader, plug the cardreader into the computer, and again drag and drop(or copy-paste) the mp3 files onto the card

Can not add music

You cant drag and drop from Windows Media Player or Real Player, you have to go to the location on your computer where the audio files are stored *example - 'My Music' folder under 'My Document', copy and paste the songs from that location. Make sure the audio files are MP3 or Unprotected Windows Media Audio files as that is all this unit accepts.
