Hp 4350 - Manually feed not printing on its own

I send a print job to the printer and I want to use the manually feed tray. I placed paper in the tray and when I send the job to the printer, it doesn't print. I have to select the GO button on the printer for the print job to process. Any idea why this is happening.

My HP P2015DN only prints one page at a time. If I have a 5 page document, the first page prints and then I must print the go button for each page to print.

Is the paper feeding from the manual tray or tray 2. If you are printing from tray 2 and have this problem then it is likely that your driver or software is looking for different paper types than you have loaded in the printer. For example, if you have plain paper in tray 2 and your software wants to print on letterhead, then the printer will stop after each page and by pressing the button you are telling the printer that it is ok to print on different paper. If you have the paper in the manual feed tray (tray 1) then I would check to make sure you are telling the pirnter to print to tray 1 and not manual feed when you send a print job.

In our office we have a HP Laser Jet P4015X printer. When I go to the option of printing - properties and then click on paper source and then click on manual feed tray one - it automatically defaults to...

I am not sure how to get the "Standby mode" back, but one thing you may want to investigate is "JOB STORAGE"

Job storage allows you to send your job to the printer....have the printer wait until you get to the printer and then retrieve your job when you are ready to...This is also great for printing confidential information when you don't want it to just spit out from the printer where there could be someone else around.

See page 162 of the user guide here: http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01436366/c01436366.pdf

for some more details on job storage.

Good Luck

if you using office go to page setup and select the tray(s) that you want to use for the first page and other pages ( both must be the same ) unless you only want the first page as letter head and the rest on plain paper or something along those lines ?

Also if you go into the properties of the printer and go to advanced and then click on the printing defaults button and see if the options in there are the same or different to whats in printing preferences.

If they are set to tray 1 then it will default to tray 1

I am making a baby shower announcement. The paper is not a standard size. It is recommended that I manually feed it. I don't know how.

first go to control panel and select printers and faxes.... in there right clik ur printer and choose printer preferences..... choose the printing shortcuts.... in the left side u ll have a list of available types of print... select ur required type... on the right u have paper source .... select automatic.... and then next to the printing shortcuts tab... go to features tab... there in the resizing options ..... choose custom and put in the size of the paper u want to print in.....

Make sure that the paper exit tray is extended out. This will give your print job a place to rest when finished.
Feed the paper manually through the paper support. This should be done at the speed the printer allows. Do not try to rush the paper through.
Watch the paper come out through the paper exit tray. Make sure it is not crooked or creased.

thank you
have a nice day

I can't seem to control which tray the paper is fed from.

My idea is that you have the wrong printer for the job. Yes. It will automatically take anything that is put into the upper feed section, because it is actually the same feed section- it uses the exact same feed rollers to feed from the bypass tray as the main tray, this is designed only as a convenience for the occasion you want to print different size paper you may want to run, or for re-feeding for duplex

Hi artroebridge:
Thsi printer is asking you to load tray 1. You need to check the paper source. Print a configuration page and see what your trays are set for,and also check your print properties for the correct tray configuration (what tray u want to print from)

Hp laserjet 4350 printing slow down

Look on the left side of the tray. There should be 3 white fingers that stick out. Make sure they aren't broken or out of place. Also slide the paper size lever and make sure they work properly. There is also a custom and standard switch. Try to print out of the MP tray(fold down tray). If it prints normal speed, you probably have a problem with the tray.
