Printer has lines of dots or lines running the "long" way on a 13X19 print, especially in the dark colored areas. These lines or lines of dots run perpendicular to the movement of the print heads, so I wondered if there was a problem with the heads "hitting" something like the pizza wheel rollers every pass. the problem is getting progressively worse. At first it was just lines with a few dots missing, now it's become almost continuous lines spaced about one inch apart. Thanks!!
Thank You! I've updated the hardware. Can I change the rollers myself? I'm pretty handy. Or do you think this is something for the "pro" people to do? Many Thanks, EdThank You!

I took printer in to \r\n"experts" They said I hadn't been using the correct paper!!! I've been using Epson paper. Also, they wanted to replace, not the rollers, but the "pizza wheels" which don't look broken, but they said they are. I didn't leave computer with them. Could this be a cleaning problem? Anyone hear of Epson Printer Cleaning Sheets?? ThanksPrinter has lines of dots or lines running the "long" way on a 13X19 print, especially in the dark colored areas. if the printer is in warranty let the epson people do that...because they will do that at free of cost...if the printer is in warranty let the epson people do that...because they will do that at free of cost...

No, that's not what it means.
If printer heads are not aligned, CMYK colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and blacK - the usual colours in a printer) will not print in the correct place.
Assume a dark grey dot is to be printed. For this C, M and Y colored dots have to be placed exactly on the same spot. But if heads are not aligned, the three color dots will not be exactly in the same place. Therefore you will see Cyan, magenta and Yellow dots adjacent to each other instead of one dark grey dot.
It is always a good idea to align the print heads every time a new cartridge is installed.
Try running auto color registration adj from user tools/menu(try it a couple times)
If this doesnt clear it up you will need to have a transfer belt and or transfer belt assy replaced

You are getting black lines in green color, and apperence of parallel light and dark lines because your colour catridge is almost empty. So solution is replace the catridge and take a printout. There is no proplem with a printer. i think it solves your problem.
1. Remove printhead for offending color.
2. Soak printhead area in 1/4" of warm water for about one minute.
3. With a dry paper towel lightly wipe the printhead length wise.
You should get two continuous color bands either black/yellow
or cyan/magenta.
4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until you get two continuous color bands.
5. Replace printhead in printer print several blocks of each color.
6. Repeat from step 1 until it works.
7. all else replace printhead.
If the issue is occuring in the same place on all prints, try the imaging drum (can't remember if this printer even uses one) or the transfer belt/roller (not sure which it uses). If you phone Dell support, they should run you through troubleshooting and send you either of those parts free of charge if you are under warranty. If not, buy them anyways; they don't degrade over time (if kept in the dark) and can be saved for when the currently installed one runs out if you don't need it to fix this issue.
You really should not run labels through this machine unless they are full sheets. If you are running used pages the glue will build up on the tranfer belt and cause the hazing.
Thank You!
