Log out of yahoo mail, then restart your internet browser. Go to yahoo mail again and try logging back in. If all the email messages are not in your inbox, check your trash bin or other folders.

I'm assuming you have lost the emails out of your inbox. The way I see it one of three things have happened:
They have moved to somewhere else in you mail, maybe into another folder.
They have been deleted.
Your account has been reset.
There are solutions with variable outcomes for all of these:
Either manually search all the folders you have or use the search box to try and find an email you know was in your inbox previously. e.g. If you had a paypal receipt in there search for something like "paypal" or "recipt", if it finds the email/s simply navigate to the folder and we can assume the rest of the emails are there.
If your account has been reset all data within it will have been deleted, it may still be possible for Yahoo to restore emails using their back-ups as described in solution 2 above.

How to Retrieve Email When Deleted From Trash
When
emails are deleted from a folder they usually go to the "Trash Bin" and
can be restored to their original location. Emails erased from "Trash"
are considered permanently deleted by all email programs.
Unfortunately, there are neither general nor easy ways to retrieve
emails deleted permanently. The usual strategy is to relay on a backup
of the mailbox. Some web based mail services allow you to successfully
retrieve deleted mailbox content because, for limited time, they keep
backups. The Yahoo Mail can do a rollback of a mailbox to the time
specified by the user.

Step 1
Open the web browser and navigate to Yahoo Mail.
Step 2
Login to the Yahoo account by providing Yahoo ID/password information.

Decide
on the account rollback time that should be about 1 hour earlier than
the incident time . Example: if a email was deleted from Trash at 5:15
p.m. choose the mailbox reset time for 4:15 p.m.
Step 4
Save, print or forward to another account all messages received after the time selected in the step 3.

Open another instance of the web browser and navigate to the Yahoo! Mail Restore Help Form.

If more than 24 hours, and the Trash folder has been emptied, there would be no possible way to retrieve deleted emails.
Try to make a habit of NEVER emptying your Trash folder. The emails in that folder are deleted periodically by Yahoo!, so there's no reason for you to take that step.
