Needs the button put back into place. Look under the cabinet to see if there is an access panel below the switch, would go for all external controls. There would be a chassis with all the controls mounted to it. Pull the plug before doing any repairs. Look to see what it would look like in it's normal position. Something has moved out of place that holds the switch to the panel. Very tedious if you have to remove the whole housing.
There is really no easy fix...but patience is on your side if you have some. You will need to buy an RF connector at a electronics store..Please visit a commercial dealer, Radio Shack is to limited! Pull the tuner out of the tv board, open the cover that contains the solders. Lets hope the board is not cracked. and be sure one of those small coils are not pulled out..Donot even think about touching or moving these coils if you open the wrong side ot the tuner shield. Reconnect the tail of the RF connector through the board. You sometimes will have to cut the tail length wise for a fit. [You better buy two RF conectors just incase you make a goof. Then solder the a ring around the RF connector to the tuner box. Reinstall into the tv board! Hope this works!
belive your referring to rf converter assembly. entire unit can be replaced or if threaded end pulled out can be repaired. dont understand 3 wires unless worked on previously. avg shop prob min bench to repair. .
If you're connected to a digital cable box, I would try using the external component connections and bypass the TV's tuner. If all you have is straight cable coming into the house, it could be the cable signal itself or a defective tuner in the TV assuming all the menu settings are correct in the TV.
This unfortunately is a common issue that happens when moving televisions with the coaxial connection (the silver connector). Normally the best way to get this repaired is to bring it in to a local repair facility. I can't speak on the costs but they should be nominal, as long there wasn't any other internal components that were damaged.
Another repair option might be to purchase a digital converter box for your television as long as you have Audio/Video inputs. With the pending conversion to digital broadcasts this would be killing two birds with one stone.
You should be able to use your remote control to do this.Your channel 73 is more than likely UHF 73 so you need to put your tv in the antenna setting rather than cable setting. Once you do this just input 73 with your remote.
Hope this helps!
