Question about Samsung Blackjack SGH-I607 Smartphone

Upgrading to WM6 from WM5 Doesn't work.

I have downloaded the latest version of Microsoft Sync 4.5 and have downloaded the Samsung Mobile Modem drivers and the system says it installed the modem drivers successfully. However when I try and download the WM6 to my Blackjack in it's reflashing mode, the software never downloads and my USB connections seems to time out. I've tried on 3 different computers thinking it may be the USB ports, but Microsoft Sync works perfectly thru the USB ports. HELP!

No, I feel it is not the cable because Microsoft Sync works flawlessly thru the cable and phone, I also downloaded songs from my computer into the phone with no problem. The thing I do notice is that the image the download page has, shows the mobile modem in the device manager under hardware. Mine does not show the mobile modem, However, it does have it as an installed program. When I go to "Add/Remove Programs" the Samsung Mobile Modem IS listed. Thanks for trying

I still feel it is a software issue. As I stated before, the image on the SAMSUNG website, showing the direction for downloading, has a page image showing what the device manager hardware page should look like. The image shows the Samsung Mobile Modem listed under"Modems" on the hardware page and also Mobile Modem Diagnostics is also listed. On my XP system NO Mobile Modem is listed in the hardware list, HOWEVER, a program called Samsung Mobile Modem IS listed on my "Programs" list under "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.

What software? The MicroSync? Or WM5? It came preinstalled on the I607 with no software CD except for the MicroSync CD. I am in the process of checking the firmware issues. Thanks

Will do...I'm in the process of looking for the firmware update as we speak. Stay tuned!

I was just told that Samsung doesn't make firmware updates available to the public and that I have to go to my local service provider and have them check. Bummer...will try today and get back on here as soon as possible.

    Thanks

Window Vista syncronizing with iPAQ 3835 problem

In order to sync any iPAQ with Windows Vista, you will need to download and install Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx.

Activesync will only work for XP Operating Systems and earlier.
Notes
  • To find out whether your version of Windows Vista or Windows 7 is 32-bit or 64-bit, click Start, right-click Computer, and then click Properties. The version is listed after System Type.
  • You can use Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 only with phones running Windows Mobile 2003 or later. ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center won’t work with Windows Embedded CE 4.2 or 5.0, Pocket PC 2002, or Smartphone 2002 devices. (To see which Windows Mobile operating system you’re using, and if your phone doesn’t have a touch screen, click Start > Settings > About. If your phone has a touch screen, click Start > Settings > System tab > About.) To sync content to any of these devices, you must use a USB or serial cable and your computer’s Internet connection and File Explorer.
  • You must use Microsoft Outlook 2002, Outlook 2003, or Office Outlook 2007 to sync your e-mail, contacts, tasks, and notes from your computer.
  • You must use a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer the first time you use Windows Mobile Device Center to sync.

How i can sync my Ipaq h3955 with my pc win xp

In order to sync your iPAQ with Windows XP or earlier, you will need to download and install Windows Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 from:http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/activesync-download.mspx.

Notes:
You can use ActiveSync 4.5 only with phones that run Windows Mobile 2003 or later versions. ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center won’t work with Windows Embedded CE 4.2 or 5.0, Pocket PC 2002, or Smartphone 2002 phones. (To see which Windows Mobile operating system you’re using, if your phone doesn’t have a touch screen, click Start > Settings > About. If your phone has a touch screen, click Start > Settings > System tab > About.) To sync information to any of these phones, you must use a USB or serial cable and your computer’s Internet connection and File Explorer.
You must use Microsoft Outlook 2002, Outlook 2003, or Office Outlook 2007 to sync your e-mail, contacts, tasks, and notes from your computer.

Download and install ActiveSync:
1. Click the download link on this page, and then click Continue.
2. Select whether you want to register for the Windows Mobile newsletter, and then click Continue.
3. Click Download files below, and then click Download (next to the Setup.msi file).
4. In the File Download dialog box, click Run.
5. Follow the instructions in the Installation Wizard to install ActiveSync.

Note: You must use a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer the first time you use ActiveSync to synchronize information.

Acer N 300 use with Vista

Hi

In case you still have not been able to solve your problems I can help you!

1. Just connect the PDA and your Vista laptop the way you used to with WinXP (cradle, USB). The PDA will be detected as "Windows Mobile Device" and you should be automatically asked by Vista for sync configuration. You will have to get used to the "Windows Mobile Device" interface.

2. There is no official upgrade from WM5 to WM6. But if you surf to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347220, there will be help for you.

Regards

Scot
