Question about Gigabyte GA-8IE Motherboard
This is now my 2nd failed attempt at replacing my 2.0Ghz 400 fsb CPU with a 2.66 533 fsb CPU on my Gigabyte GA-8IE mobo. Not only do the specs claim it supports 533, but the CPUs I've chosen comply with Gigabyte's compatibility chart. When the PC boots, the HDD light comes on and it freezes; no memory count, no BIOS screen, no beeps. Memory is PC2100, video is AGP, onboard sound is disabled, BIOS settings are set to auto.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
