How to get to the drain line on my Frigidaire side by side refrigerator, model number MRS22WNGW7. Water keeps coming out of the freezer side onto the floor (front left side). I was told it could be a clogged drain hose.

I will help you if you want. Just seems like sometimes I write to people that never respond or even come back to read the time I donate to help here. Most times not even a rate or thank you,. You will need to unplug your refrigerator and place the frozen contents in a safe cold area as you remove the rear panel of your freezer. The Defrost condensate drain is below the evaporator and behind the rear panel of your freezer. Click here and Scroll Down to=> REPAIR OF LEAKING REFRIGERATORS then clickon photo and takes you to the authors. Watch this move=>

Rate Me or just say thanks,

Thanks christoph338 for the rate! I think I was having a bad day when I made this post. For most people this solution is a little confusing but for many it is a solution for just what is happening. I'm here if anyone has questions related to refrigeration. If you're from the UK the solutions are the same yet I do have problems finding matching part numbers and service manuals, Thanks Again, John Tripp

You are right, this issue more than likely is a clogged drain line, your water has no where to drain, thus draining inside the freezer floor, and then leaks out eventually.

What you'll need to do, is remove your shelves inside the freezer, once you do that, there is the back panel, you'll need to take those screws out of that. Usually 1/4 inch screws. Remove the back panel, make sure you unplug the unit before doing this. Once you get the back panel off, you can then see the drain hold on the bottom, right below the evaporator coil.

Best way to get the clogged drain (usually frozen water). You'll need to get some hot water, in a measuring cup, heat in the microwave for a couple minutes, and slowly poor the water, and let it sit for a couple minutes. You'll need to grab a towel, and soak the water up, and continue to poor more water, until the water starts to melt away. Once all the water is melted away, you'll notice as the water will start to drain, into the drain pan. Sometimes, you'll overflow this pan just a little bit, so you may need to pull the refrig out, and clean up any water that comes out, if it does.

Frigidaire side by side refrigerator is leaking water

I assume you are talking about water leaking from the freezer onto the floor. It is most likely that the defrost drain is blocked in the freezer causing the water to drain through the air vents. You will most likely have to remove the rear panel in the freezer and pour hot water in the drain trough until the drain clears up and the water drains down the drain tube.

Hey friend, thank you for the post!

From my understanding you have water leaking out of the freezer of your Frigidaire refrigerator and onto the floor. I would like to ask you a couple of additional questions. First, do you see where the water is coming from? Secondly, what is the model number of your appliance? You can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside cabinet of the fresh food compartment normally on the left side in a top mount. But on a side by side it can be found on the right hand side. I look forward to hearing back from you. -Matt

Sounds like you have a frozen drain line. I would unplug the unit at let the drain line thaw. This would be the easiest way to rectify the issue. Leave both doors open for 24 hrs. Hope this helps _MJ_

How to get to the drain line on my Frigidaire side by side refrigerator model number MRS22WNGW7. Water keeps coming out of the freezer side onto the floor (front left side). I was told it could be a...

I just opened up the back of my Frigidaire Side by Side counter depth to find the drain hose was bent and collapsed coming right out of the bottom of the freezer and the pan was dry as a bone. It doesn't look like my drain hose has ever drained a drop of water. The freezer bottom is full of ice And the rust and chipping paint under the bottom of the freezer door along with the mysterious puddles of water every morning means the drain system definetely never worked. Frigidaire should be responsible for this. This, along with the ice maker rebuild I had to do,... after ice was spilling all through the fridge. I actually had warrantty left on that one and called customer support in India to find out I could make the repair myself. Yep I had to do it. Frigidaire you failed.

Water leaking onto floor when defrosting automatically

There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a crack in the defrost pan, water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet, but most are cased by a defrost drain line blockage. Below is a link that may be helpful so try to take it all in and use the parts that most refer to your specific problem, Thanks Sea Breeze HOW TO FIX A LEAKING REFRIGERATOR OR FREEZER

Water from freezer pools at the bottom

The drain line for the evaporator is frozen shut. You have to thaw the drain line that is located behind the rear wall in the freezer side. It is at the very bottom and will require a hair dryer or lots of hot water.

Model number f45zr24jw type 7 water filling up at bottem of freezer looks like it is comming from vent at bottom of freezer back wall filles up leaks out onto floor were is water comming from.

water is coming from the evaporator coil durring the defrost cycle and it must drain down into the small hose in the pan where the ice is , turn the unit off to defrost with a hair dryer of you can wait it out , after defrosting the ice puddle , pour a cup of bleach in it and snake it out with a stiff wire or similar. this should clear your clogged primary evaporator drain and stop the water leak.

FRIGIDAIRE FRS22ZRGD2

you may need to clean the drain tube again. the only other place that water may come from is the ice maker if it is over flowing. this however would be very obvious. use some thing like a length of cloths line cable to "snake" the drain after you defrost it. the fastest way to defrost it is to use hot water and a turkey baister. good luck.
