Hi I have a Frigidaire electric range ES400 the top left 8" front single element has gone out. I have looked through my owners manual, on how to change it. Is there something that I am over looking? Or can you tell me how to change it with out having to make a service call Rosemary

I see that your question is listed under Frigidaire Gas Single Oven (FGB24S5A) and that you are looking for the manual. I have successfully located the Owner's Guide. However, if you need a different manual, please provide me your model number. You can typically locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the front of the oven, on the left side, as you open the door on a wall oven. If you have a range, you may find the tag in the storage drawer, on the right side. Hope this helps!

You have a problem with the hotplate controller. The controller is faulty and requires replacing. The controller can be accessed by removing the panel behind the controllers.

To be certain the elements are o/k you need to test them with a meter. I suspect one of them has failed.
You normally cannot always tell if they are o/k simply by looking at them.

Go to your home circuit/fuse panel and reset the fuse or circuit breaker for the range.

look for a shorted bake element .. you should be able to see where it poped. ( some times ) if you have ohm meter you can ck for an open element . **** //

Most elements are mounted to the back of the baking chamber from the outside and held in place with brackets that are screwed in place. Turn the BREAKER off, & after taking the back off you should find the wires are wire nutted together.

Contacts are fused.  Get a new one, cut the power and replace it.
