I am pretty sure that you can not. Unless you are an electronic expert and you can get a laptop ati mobile graphic card which is compatible with your laptop. These parts are very expensive and these modifications are not cost worthy. If you have the time and money try to change the hole motherboard. Hope that helped!!!

Computer dell latitude D610 built in 2006 replacing the viedo card how too's and also what can I do to mabe upgrade this veido card? and dose anything else need to be updated at the same time as the...

Sorry Jimmy, the Dell Latitude D610 Notebook PC uses Integrated Graphics.
There is no graphics card to upgrade.

Your Dell either came with a form of the Intel GMA graphics chipset , or the ATI Radeon Mobility X300 graphics chipset.

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/latd610/en/ug_en/specs.htm

Either/Or

The way Dell states it, (And also this is for a LOT of laptop manufacturers), is that you have either the option when purchasing, of having an Intel GMA chipset for graphics, or discrete graphics of the ATI Radeon Mobility X300, for graphics.

Discrete being the word that fools people. Makes them think it has a dedicated, removable graphics card, when in reality it is a graphics chipset soldered directly to the motherboard, and is not upgradeable.

Primer:
GPU
Graphics Processing Unit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPU

Essentially the 'graphics engine'.

A GPU can be installed directly on the motherboard, (Integrated Graphics), OR installed on a removable graphics adapter card. (Graphics Card is shortened for graphics adapter card)

Integrated Graphics borrows from the system resources. The Processor and Ram Memory.
This is why programs, for example games, that use a lot of graphics 'power', do not perform well on a computer with Integrated Graphics.

{Read - programs that use a lot of graphics power. Such as some of the newer games. Integrated graphics, depending on what graphics chipset it is, CAN run some games. Ones that are not very graphics intensive}

A dedicated graphics card has it's own processor, and graphics ram memory. Does not need to borrow from the system resources.

Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_circuit

The graphics chipset in your Dell Latitude, is mounted to the motherboard with a BGA surface mount.
Ball Grid Array

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_grid_array

To explain the BGA surface mount;
Let's use the older Intel Pentium 4 processor that uses a Socket 478 processor socket.
The bottom of the processor has contact pins. (478 of 'em)
The processor socket has matching socket holes for the contact pins. (478 of 'em)

With the BGA surface mount there are no contact pins. In place of them are Solder Balls.
There is no socket, or socket holes on the motherboard.
There are Copper Pads.

The graphics chipset is set into place with the Solder Balls lining up on the motherboard's Copper Pads.
Then heat is applied at a specified temperature, and length of time.

The solder balls melt which solders the graphics chipset to the motherboard. (To the Copper Pads)

Removal and replacement is properly performed with a BGA Rework Machine.
Costly, and not something you'll find a local shop performing.
{The machine is costly, and the operator needs to be S-K-I-L-L-E-D. Cost of having a chipset replaced is Ouch!}

There are two ways you can upgrade your graphics.

1) If you have the motherboard model with a form of Intel GMA chipset attached, you can purchase the motherboard that has the ATI Radeon Mobility X300, and install it.

2) Purchase a laptop with better graphics.

{Not trying to be snide}

We bought Sims3 for PC but now someone tell me that we must have bought the Sims and Sims2 then it can be install on the PC. Is that true and if so where can we get install disk to go on.

Hi. Welcome to Fixya!
You don't need to install Sims 1 and Sims 2 to be able to install Sims 3 to your computer. For the expansion packs and stuff packs for Sims 3 you need to install first Sims 3 base game for it to work on your computer. However your computer must have the system requirements of Sims 3 to be able to run it properly. Here is the system requirements for Sims 3 :
FOR WINDOWS XP

* Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
* 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
* 1 GB RAM
* At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
* 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

FOR WINDOWS VISTA
* Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
* 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
* 1.5 GB RAM
* At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
* 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least:
* Intel Integrated Chipset, GMA X3000 or above.
* 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent
* 0.5 GB additional RAM

Sims 3 crashes

Hi. Well that is obvious if the memory as well as the virtual memory drops below the required level. Your VGA settings (Graphic Adapter) might also making the game crash. It is a good thing to disable AVG temporarily while you play the game. (Please let me know your System's specifications as well. Like RAM size, VGA size, Processor Speed and Hard Drive Capacity - Both free and used capacity. If you have default specs for the Dell I6400 no need to include). Otherwise it will use the memory and virtual memory to scan the activities of the game.
You have to keep some vacant area in your System Partition (In which you have install the Operating System). Virtual memory page file is 1.5 x the size of RAM. But you can increase the size. But you have to have a faster hard drive as well because it will be used more when you increase it. The other option is to upgrade your RAM (installing an additional RAM if the PC supports). Most of the modern games require way too high performance PCs. Most of the time RAM and VGA.
To increase the Virtual Memory:
  1. Right click on My Computer icon and go to Properties.
  2. Click on Advanced tab.
  3. Click on Settings under the category, Performance.
  4. Click on Advanced.
  5. Click on Change under Virtual Memory.
  6. Select a free Partition (Which had more than the size x 1.5 of your RAM)
  7. Select the option System Managed size if you do not wish to do it manually. If you want to configure manually, select the Custom size option and enter the size which I mentioned before in BOTH the boxes.
  8. Then click on SET.
  9. You may be asked to Reboot the machine. Do so if asked to.
  10. Then play he game.
  11. If possible please upgrade your RAM.
Sims 3 System Requirements are as follows:
  • FOR WINDOWS XP

  1. 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
  2. 1 GB RAM (512 should be enough however)
  3. 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
  4. The latest version of DirectX 9.0c
  5. Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
  6. This one is very important: At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games.
  • FOR WINDOWS VISTA

  1. 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
  2. 1.5 GB RAM
  3. 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 (not enough)
  4. Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1
  5. At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games
  6. For computers using built-in graphics chipsets under Windows, the game requires at least:
  • Intel Integrated Chipset, GMA 3-Series or above
  • 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent
  • 0.5 GB additional RAM

  • FOR MAC OS X
  1. Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard or higher
  2. Intel Core Duo Processor
  3. 2 GB RAM
  4. ATI X1600 or Nvidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100.
  5. At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games
  • This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems, or the GMA 950 class of integrated video cards.
Windows Supported Video Cards NVIDIA GeForce series FX 5900, FX 5950 6200, 6500, 6600, 6800 7200, 7300, 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950 8400, 8500, 8600, 8800 9300, 9400, 9500, 9600, 9800 G100, GT 120, GT 130, GTS 150 GTS 250, GTX 260, GTX 280, GTX 285, GTX 295 ATI Radeon™ series 9500, 9600, 9800 X300, X600, X700, X800, X850 X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950 2400, 2600, 2900 3450, 3650, 3850, 3870 4850, 4870
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) GMA 3-Series, GMA 4-Series
Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but may run comparatively slower. Standalone cards that are installed in vanilla PCI slots (not PCIe or PCIx or AGP), such as some GeForce FX variants, will perform poorly.
Integrated chipsets such as the ATI Xpress and the NVIDIA TurboCache variants may default to settings that are higher than what would be optimal for them. Graphics settings can be lowered to improve performance.
The NVIDIA GeForce FX series is unsupported under Vista. MAC OS X Supported Video Cards NVIDIA GeForce series 7300, 7600 8600, 8800 9400M, 9600M GT GT 120, GT 130 ATI Radeon™ series X1600, X1900 2400, 2600 3870 4850, 4870 Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) GMA 3-Series.
So make sure to meet at least the minimum requirements.
Enjoy Gaming.

I dont know which type of ram my ati mobility radeon hd 4570 uses? is it gddr3 or ddr2. im using dell studio 1555 laptop

Hi there.

Looking at the specs, it could be DDR2/DDR3 or even GDDR3. The best way to find out, is to open your BIOS setup screen when you first turn on the system. It should be listed on the first page that lists what processor your running.

Hope that helps.
