That is set when you set up the router for the first time, If you do NOT have it, you need to access the router, and copy down the KEY. Otherwise simply re-setup the router again, this time copy the key to a document and then use that key to connect from the Client. You will need to renew every client connected if you do, do it all gain.

How do you write an ASCII network encryption key?

Hello. Wireless security strength depends on the mode of encryption you are going to use (WEP, WPA-PSK [TKIP], WPA2-PSK [AES], WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]).
WPA-PSK should be enough to secure your Wireless network.

ASCII - Choose from any key available on the keyboardHexadecimal - Characters ( 0~9 and A~F)

  • Before setting up wireless security on the router, make sure the computer you are going to use to setup wireless security is directly connected to the router using an Ethernet cable(wired).

  • To setup wireless security on the router, access the router user by typing http://www.routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1 in the address field of your browser and then press Enter.
  • Enter admin for the router user name and your password (or the default, password).
11_25_2011_5_49_11_am.png
  • Choose Wireless Settings from the Menu on the left.
11_25_2011_5_52_11_am.jpg
  • Select WPA-PSK under Security Options. Input the Passphrase.
Passphrase can be 8~63 Hexadecimal characters or 8~63 ASCII characters.
Take note of the passphrase then click Apply.
Hope this helps. Have a nice day.

[email protected] do I turn on the wireless connection on my HP Photsmart C6300 All-in-One series printer/copier?

Make sure you know the SSID or 'name' of your home wireless network as well as the WEP or WPA password to connect to your network before you begin.
1) Press the Setup button on the HP All-in-One. It has a wrench on it. 2) Continue pressing until Network is highlighted, and then press OK . 3) The Network Menu appears. 4) Press until Wireless Setup Wizard is highlighted, and then press OK . In a few moments, a list of detected networks appears on the display. The network with the strongest signal appears first.
Do one of the following: 5) Press the down arrow key to highlight the name of the network that you wrote down earlier. Then press OK. 6) If your network uses security, a prompt appears for the WEP key or WPA passphrase. Both are case sensitive. Use the visual keyboard to enter the WEP key or WPA passphrase, as requested. Note : If your router uses 4 WEP keys, make sure you use the first one. 7) Follow the prompts on the display to complete the network setup. 8) Then if you haven't already done so, install your software.
That should do the trick! Hope this helps!

My printer is asking me for a WPA passphrase in order to connect to the router. Where do I find this?

Your printer must have wireless capability. It is asking for your wireless security passphrase in order to join the wireless network. This passphrase is the key/phrase that you created when you setup your wireless network. You will need to login to your router and go to wireless setting section to find out what the passphrase is if you don't remember it. Thanks

I have a D-link model DIR-628 and I want to use it for direct my wireless printer, the printer setup ask me for the WAP passphrase to end configuration but I don"t have it. How can I get it?

The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router'swireless settings configured ie SSID, WPA or WPA2 encryption key and also thewireless cards in all the wireless printer, or laptops or computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the wireless printer, laptops and desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router.

Need wpa passphrase

To get the WPA passphrase of the Cisco Linksys E1000 Wireless N router, you need to have a computer that is wired to the device. Log in to the router's setup up page by opening a browser then type in 192.168.1.1 on the address bar. Leave the Username blank and on the Password type "admin". On the setup page click on Wireless then on the sub tab click on the Wireless Security. You will see then the WPA passphrase.

Need WPA need passphase

You can get those passphrase's or key generated codes by going into the routers administration web page. Not sure which router you have but the typical address is either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1. Open up your browser and type these one at a time into your URL address bar. Once you get into the web page you should find a tab that says Security Settings or something similar. There you will find the WPA passphrase and the key codes needed to connect your printer to the network. I have found the key codes are needed for WPA setups. Hope this helps

networks appears on the display. The network with the strongest signal appears first.

e) Do one of the following:
- Press down arrow button to highlight the name of the network that you wrote down earlier.
- If the network name that you wrote down does not appear in the list, you can enter it manually. Press down arrow button until Enter New Network Name (SSID) is highlighted, and then press OK . Then use the visual keyboard to enter the network name.
f) If your network uses security, a prompt appears for the WEP key or WPA passphrase. Both are case sensitive. Use the visual keyboard to enter the WEP key or WPA passphrase, as requested.
Note : If your router provides 4 WEP keys, make sure you use the fi rst one.
g) Follow the prompts on the display to complete the network setup.

Can't connect the artisan 800 to our wireless network

To add the printer to your wireless network, you need to know the name (SSID)
of your wireless network. If it has security enabled, you also need to know the
WEP key or passphrase. Write down the SSID and WEP key or passphrase below:
■ Network name (SSID): _________________________________________
■ WEP key or passphrase: _________________________________________
Note:
If the WEP key is either 5 or 13 characters, it’s ASCII. If the WEP key is either 10 or 26
characters, it’s hexadecimal. The default WEP key is usually 1.
If your passphrase contains upper- or lowercase letters, be sure to note it correctly.
The printer supports the following wireless security modes: WEP 64, WEP 128, and
WPA-PSK.
If you don’t know your wireless network name (SSID) or WEP key or passphrase,
contact the person who set up your wireless network before you begin.

Insert the printer software CD.
2. Windows Vista®: If you see the AutoPlay window, click Run Epsetup.exe.
When you see the User Account Control screen, click Continue.
Windows® XP: When you see the Software installation screen, continue with
step 3.
Mac OS® X: Double-click the icon.
3. Click Install.

1.Make sure that the printer is turned on.
2. When you see the FireWall Warning screen, click Next.
3.Make sure you connected the Ethernet cable
