Paradigm PDR 8 Subwoofer

Yamaha 793 and Paradigm Subwoofer (by 2 users)

By Beresford - usenet poster

I have a Paradigm PDR-8 Subwoofer connected to a Yamaha 793 receiver.
I get a loud hum from the Subwoofer, even when the receiver is turned
off. I get an even louder (a VERY loud) boom when turning off the
Subwoofer (it has a on/off switch).
Does anyone know what could be the reason for this or how to solve this
problem?

Thanks in advance
Danny

I dunno. I have a PDR-8 sub and a Nakamichi receiver and it works fine!
(it worked fine with my old Kenwood 1070VR receiver too!)... and a
friend of mine has an RX-V793 with a Paradigm PS-1000 and it works okaly
dokaly! Try changing the RCA cable
