My spedometer on my 95 monte carlo keeps moving

When a window switch is not being used, it has the ground circuit on both sides. Then when you move it to up or down, you apply power to one side of the motor. Thats how the motor is able to run in both directions.
So you should have power on one side or the other when you move the switch. Have you checked it for power and ground ?

Have you checked the speedometer cable to see if it is rotating when you are moving?

There spedometer has a cable that runs to tranny and screws on. Sometimes this can unscrew or the flat cable end inside can get bent or broke.

It should be mounted in the transmission housing itself, near the output shaft, or possibly half way up a cable coming from the transmission.

Does the speedometer move and then make grinding noises when you put it back in park?

95 monte carlo is idling high we just replaced the intake manifold gasket. How do I fix this and could I have caused it.

your temp. gauge could be defaulting or your thermometer

It sounds like the Intake Gasket may have slipped a little During the Install. This would cause the Preassure Problem. Let me know so we can go further if needed. Please Rate my Response, I need all the Help that I can get! Thanks!
