Gently wipe, chip, and scrape as much scale as you can. If more cleaning is necessary, soak the pieces in vinegar.

Can't remove all that scale on this v745a humidifier. thanks

Mix a 50/50 solution of White Vinegar and Bottled Distilled Water (enough to fill the tank). Pour the solution in and let it sit for 30 minutes, Then start the humidifier and let it run until almost all of the solution has been used. Turn the unit OFF, empty the remaining solution and fill the tank with Bottles Distilled Water. Turn the unit ON and run for 30 minutes. This will flush out any of the remaining solution. The remaining water should be disposed of and in the future, use Bottled Distilled Water, rather than tap water. That way you will not have to worry about calcium and mineral build up at all. Plus, the mist that's generated will be totally void of any harmful minerals.

Hope this helped you solve the cleaning issue. Please let me know. Thanks!

It has stopped working. How do I clean it. Can the element be washed with soap?

Best way to clean it is with vinegar, it will break up the mineral deposits I'm sure the element has on it. If it is like mine the element is covered in white scale, and has stopped working. May not be worth the effort though, my element is now completely clean but the unit still auto-shuts off after about 5 min.

My vapourizer is not steaming, why?

The most likly cause is a build up of mineral and calcium around the heating element. If you can remove cover around element then you can clean by gentle brushing. Some units require the use of a torx driver to disassemble. Otherwise clean around cover and steam outlet and run about 1/8 teaspoon of salt with full container of water. If you can get it started to steam then do this several times then rinse out and refill with about 1/2 cup of pure vinegar and water. Hope this helps you. Thanks.

My humidifier is not working. I have cleaned the heating element. When plugged in the green turns on but that is it. The elements are not heating up to begin the vapor process.

Add salt. No more then 1/2 to 3/4tps max depending on the mineral content in your area.

The unit has two electrodes dipped into the water. Since water its self is none conductive without heavy minerals such as iron and such. You will have to add a small amount of salt until current starts flowing between the electrodes. I suggest a small pinch of salt each try until it produces the steam effect you desire.

Humidifier does nor work and no water light is on

"Take the humidistat out of the humidifier and look for the 3 slits below the restart button, take a hair dryer and send some warm air into those slits for 5 minutes. That usually recalibrates the humidifier."
