Question about Cameras

1 Answer

I have a JVC GR-DVL150 mini tape camcorder that I have only used about fifteen times sinc my wife bought it as a pressent about five years ago. Everything still works OK but the problem is, when you play back what's been recorded the picture is pixelated and broken intolines and the screen say's, use head cleaning tape which I have about ten times but it makes no diference at all. Is this problem repairable, and how much would it cost, because I want to sell it as I now have a JVC Everio HD camcorder. Many thanks. Alan Lowe.

Five year old..

the headsystem might need to be replaced atleast, maybe more.
Id suggest selling it as is, with the head problem. On ebay for example.

I dont know the actual value of the device but my guess would be around 50-150 maybe more who knows.

if theres anything else, let me know.

Its known issue of bad CCD imager in JVC camcorders and JVC offers free repair for few models. Click JVC Free CCD Repair for details.
GR-D50 is not in list so you may be charged for its repair or ask JVC for free repair.
Need further help, let me know.

JVC CAMCORDER DRIVERS

its true that normally you don't need to download the driver, however when it does pop up, i'd say go here http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=87522 and just download the zip file for the drivers.

Dirty video head! Playback newly opened blank tape for five minutes, after that eject, reinsert, playback then eject again five times, these will serve as your video head cleaner, never use "video head cleaning cassette tape" for it will only damage your camera. Most camera has built in video head cleaner installed inside and activates only when you insert, initial play/rec, and ejects a tape. If the problem is still there you need pro fix then.[:0)

Usually when the recording is started it takes around 10 to 15 seconds for the camera to recognise and display the duration of remaining tape, if you feel there is a problem, try using different brand tape.

JVC GR-D250 does not record properly

When playing the tape in the camera itself, do you hear sound? If so, its something with the connection cable... is not, you will need a professional repair, you can do nothing except the head clean which you did? Sorry.
