Can not find bios up date for Acer sa80-g97z celeron 2.8 ghz mobo E661gxm-7

In the address bar, after launch, type information. Then select system information. Write down the bios info. Use it for a search. There is nothing about the bios on the support page for the Aspire SA80; they simply list drivers for the machine. No bios identifying information is provided for me to pursue a search. But, scurrying around, I hink the bios for the motherboard is at this address and that may be as updated as it gets. http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=523&MenuID=1&LanID=0 You will find links to the mother board manual and bios there.

I think that is a Celeron D 336 with the motherboard manufactured by Company Elitegroup Computer Systems,ECS 661GX-M7 . The device drivers are available at http://acer.driversdown.com/acer-drivers/s_195_1.shtml

I installed Windows 7 on the Dell Optiplex 330, normmally it 's working fine. from last 3 weeks ago, the computer struck and can not do anything.

Windows 7 needs at least 2gbs of memory to work fine and also a good processor.
Where i work we had to buy some memory pents to make this pcs work fine with Windows 7.
if you have a good processor like a Pentium or better you just need to buy memory
i recommend kingston memories, im pretty sure that if you put some memory it will restart to work
fine.

Hope to help you.

The serial # is not found on the tower case

I'm not sure where you got this tower, but if the serial number isn't on the tower chances are it's been tampered with or stolen by the person you got it from. (This is just a guess)

Call customer service and keep pounding zero until you get a human. Ask them where the serial is on the tower.

There are stories I've heard of people taking a PC and opening it and replacing the fast processor with a slower one and selling it to unsuspecting people.

All that said.. Your Pentium II should work just fine with XP unless the processor is very very slow.. In which case you might want to just buy a new PC since they've reached the floor in pricing.

PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system);* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended

Now .. that means you can have ANY processor as long as it's compatible and runs at 300 Mhz or higher.. Meaning near anything still running to this day will practically work.

Motherboard Dater

Hello. To get date and version:

The only BIOS upgrade I find listed for that model (T160 Aspire) on Acer Website for the Aspire T160 Desktop is:

Acer BIOS R02-B1 868.5 KB 2008/12/09.

If you received your computer before that date and you have not added a new BIOS flash to your PC since that time, you can be sure you do not have it. http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/ Search their site by your full Serial Number if possible, and then model number to be most certain.

Other options:
When first turning computer on, at first signs of any text on your screen before it actually boots up you may hit the "Pause - Break" button on the keyboard and try to get the on-screen messages to stop so you can read it and write it down.

This text on the screen should include/tell you what date and version your motherboard BIOS/Firmware model is. You can usually pause that with a few tries, and/or just hit CTRL+ALT+DEL right then (after pause and before Windows or Unix starts) to try again.

If that does not work hit the correct key to enter BIOS Setup (access long before Windows boots) and read all information about your system there in the BIOS screens (usually always has BIOS version date listed in there).

NOTE: Adding a new BIOS flash always calls for caution as if it fails or goes wrong for any reason mid-install you may not get the computer to work again.

Troublestarting up machine...big time Fan roars constantly

Hi,

Which fan?
Is the machine booting up finally?

There are two basic fans. One over your processor and one inyour power supply. When theiry are worn out they roar with vibration, especially when starting cold. Once they warm up they expand and quieten down. The best thing is to check and change a roaring fan, and also make sure it's not rubbing against wires, which also causes loud buzzing and roaring.

Let us know, okay
