My Kenmore Elite quiet pack 4 will not lock to start a load. When I hold the start button it f then dl in the display screen HELP

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

'F' for fault, 'dL' for door lock and you don't hear it operating. It's pretty clear there is a problem either with the lock operating solenoid (highly likely 'cos you don't hear it operate) or the door lock sensor (not so likely).
Either you need to replace it or it needs replacing by a service engineer. Sorry, no other option ;-0(

Possible causes: (power off the mains first before checking)
Door lock mechanism is broken or removed from door.
Door switch/lock unit failure.
1. Check door switch/lock unit.
2. Check the wire harness connections of the door switch/lock unit to the Central Control Unit (CCU). The wires shd be secured well.

PF - Power Failure - PF error code indicates a power failure during the dryer's cycle. Press and HOLD start to continue the cycle, or press off/pause to clear display.

i have the same problem right now today hope some one knows how to fix it ,, have cleaned out bottom hoses and catch pan nothing ..

The Tab that locks the door or click you would say is either broken or the door is out of alignment... might have to remove the tab and purchase and install a new one

The "dl" code is "doorlock" indicating a problem with the door locking mechanism or switch

f11 eror is a serial coommunication error check the harness wirinbg tio the motor and cpu unit
check the drive system for worn part
check mcu motor the dl error fial code is for door lock error it will try to lock 6 times before error code is displayed that is the issue see repair clinic.com for help hope that helps

You may have inadvertently locked the control panel. You should be able to clear it by pressing and holding the DRAIN/SPIN button for 3 seconds. (It should have Control Lock instructions listed righ under this button).

dl meand door lock. A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be locked. It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error. Potential Causes ?
