My 512MB SD card works fine. No so with my 4GB card. So, somewhere between those two lies the answer.

I bought several 2GB cards to use while on vacation. I got a memory read error after taking a number of pictures - perhaps using half the card. I formatted another card and found that it formatted with only 1GB of space. I can't retrieve photos on a third 2 GB card. I'd say 1GB is the max.

A 1 GB card is the highest that you can go with this camera.

How to solve card error when i put in an 4 gb sd card on my casio exilim ex-s600

There are no 4GB SD cards. Any card that size is actually a SDHC (High Capacity) card. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

Does it support a 4 GB SD HC card format?

No. The EX-Z55 is designed to work with SD cards, not SDHC cards. You'll need to stay with cards 2GB and smaller.

Casio EX-Z55. When a memory card is in camera, the screen reads 'card error' and the camera is unusable.

The above says to try another card. If that doesn't work try to send the camera in to Casio.com for evaluation.

I wish you luck in repairing this camera.

camera's onboard memory is only 8MB, maybe 1 or 2 high resolution photo. delete the photo on the camera to clear error message and use only no more than 2 gig of sd card. It does not work with higher than 2 gig which is SDHC type sd card.

Maximale Kapazität von SD-Speicherkarten bei Verwendung mit CASIO Digitalkameras Error 0e01: It has to do with the maximum save capacity of the used SD-Cards (max. 1GB for following models). You can format the card (somehow, maybe with docking station), then it would only have 1GB capacity...

New SD Card wont work - all the others I have do!!

I believe any SD cards larger than 2Gb are technically SDHC cards, which are not compatible with all cameras. Kingston is a decent company so I'm guessing it's not because the card is a dud. If your camera doesn't advertise SDHC compatibility then I don't think you can get the card to work in it.

Seen a few of these, with no apparent fix. regarding the 0e01 error, I heard it really got fixed by a firware update. A firmware update is not available through the casio site though, not for your model. Try taking out the batteries for 24 hours, the SD card aswell, and when you put back the bats(use good NimHs), don't put back the card. See what happens. Also try connecting to electricity through the adapter. What about warranty? have you contacted casio? Do they have anything usefull to say or are they only qualified to answer the phone and offer you a 200 $ repair/replacement? Good luck
