You are seeing the "PW Sensor Defect Error" because the printer is detecting a fault with the Paper Width Sensor.
The Paper Width Sensor is located on the print head carriage and detects the paper edge to prevent printing on the platen.
You can check the follwoing;
Ensure the print head cable is not damaged and makes good contact with the printer and print head carriage
Ensure the Paper Width Sensor is connected correctly to the print head carriage assembly
It may be necessary to replace the Paper Width Sensor
Ok, I think the problem you are having is when printing from a version of Windows, basically the problem is the 6306 can only print 13.6 Inch Wide, it looks like you are trying to define a paper size 15 inches wide. As the paper size defined is wider than the capability of the printer, you do not see this paper size within Windows.
The solution to the problem may be much easier than you might imagine as it is very unlikely you actually want to print 15 inches wide, you more than likely want a paper width of less than 13 inches but are including the sprocket holes and margins at the side of the paper.
Simply define a paper size the width of the printable area of the paper, so long as this is less than 13.6 inches you will then be able to select this within Windows.
The 2280+ is indicating a defect with the paper width sensor, the paper width sensor on the 2280+ is locate on the carriage and detects when you try to print off the paper.
You may wish to disable the paper width sensor. To continue printing, this can be done in the following way.
Power the printer on holding down ONLINE
When the printer displays ASCII80 ASCII136 along the top line of the display release the ONLINE button.
Press the Button under NEXT (button 4) repeatedly until you see APW
Press the button under APW
Press button 3 to change this to OFF
Place the printer ONLINE to exit the menu.
This will disable the Paper Width sensor which should resolve the issue with the message being seen. You can then get an engineer to look at the paper width sensor to see why this is not working.
