Do they all pass through all at once, as if the they are not separating , or are they passing through one at a time with good separation, but only the first page displays?

First Scan only a single page and note file size. Now scan 3 or 4 pages ad check the file size. If it is more, then the scanner is clubbing/collating all the images into a single file. Check your software settings and disable this feature if you want individual files.

Printer is not picking up paper from top tray

They have either a seperation pad or a roller. This is under the top roller. The main feed roller.Clean roller with wd.-40. Believe it or not. Let it sit for 3to5 minutes and try. Now don't forget to fan your paper. Especially if your in a high static area. Environment plays a big role. Store your paper in a dry place.

What is the different between ARDF and SPDF in Ricoh

ARDF is a two pass system meaning it flips the paper to make a two sided original scan.
SPDF is single pass meaning there is a component in the feeder that reads the second side in a single pass, thus speeding the original scan, highly recomended if you do a lot of scans.

Epson gts50 wont stop scanning until paper jam occurs

I just started having the same issue. However, I don't think the problems was understood. You can one sheet of paper; that's all you need to scan. The scanner will not stop until it has cycled through 8 scans and which point it will then prompt that a e1: Paper Jam has occured. You can hit ok and still safe the document, but it is annoying have to go through the cycles or hit cancel to stop the cycling (at which point you can then still save the scan). I believe Alan and I are both looking for a solution to resolve the issue.

Mine started after a serious paper jam. I am in a rather unique situation as I have to requested elevated priveledges to down load/update any drivers. So personnally I am trying to find a way to work around the issue.

Thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Documate error 8

Hello.

I am a Support Engineer with Xerox Scanners.

E8 is a Paper Jam error that could be caused by:
- paper crumpling during scan.
- paper is multi-feeding all at once instead of feeding separate.
- scanner continuously tries to feed after paper has fed through.

if the paper is crumpling during the scan, make sure the inside of the scanner is clear of any obstructions. use the paper guides in the ADF tray to keep the paper straight when feeding in.

if the paper is multifeeding while scanning, fan out the pages before inserting them into the scanner. if problem persists, try cleaning the rollers with rubbing alcohol and a lint free cloth.

if scanner tries to continually feed after the paper feeds through, the ADF tray will need to be reseated. open the scanner and remove the ADF tray at the top. line up the 4 keys at the bottom of the tray with the 4 corresponding key slots inside the scanner. push the tray back until it clicks into place.

When I copy using the auto feed, I get a line across my copies. The line can fade or be dark but has been present for a few months. Copies that are hand placed do not have the line. What can I do?

There is usually a little strip of glass to the left of the main glass bed where you would place paper by hand. This little strip is what the feeder passes the paper over to scan it while the scan head stays in place underneath it. Most likely there is some fuzz or dirt on this strip of glass or on the feeder where the paper passes.

The scanner takes 2 sheets of paper at a time instead of 1 so only 1 is being scanned. I've tried a different paper that is thicker than regular printer paper and it's still doing it.

There is a pad below the feed roller that wears out. It is called a ****** pad, it retards the feeding of extra sheets of paper. That pad will need to be replaced. Once it is it will stop multisheet feeding.

Lexmarkx125 will scan larger pictures but smaller ones.

Here are some instructions from the Lexmark X63 which was similar to the X125.

The Lexmark X63 uses a sheet fed scanner, intended to scan 8 1/2 x11 inch paper.
  • To scan a document between 5 1/2 inches and 8 3/4 inches wide, center the document between the paper feed guides leading into the scanner and make sure the document is held straight,. Do not bend the document as it is fed into the scanner.
  • To scan photos or pictures that are 5 1/2 inches wide or smaller, you will need to use a flatbed scanner, or "mat" the image into a regular letter-size paper and scan the entire page. When the scan process is complete, crop out the picture using the AUTO CROP option in the Scan and Copy Control program or the photo-editing software.

The scanner wont scan, everytime i add papers it will act like its about to scan but then says there is a jam.

These scanners have multiple sensors, that can check if there is a double feed or paper jam. May be one of them is faulty or a small piece of paper is stuck there. Remove/clean this and the scanner will be fine.
