Drain pipe in maytag washer lav3600aww

Best I remember there are two hoses that make up the drain, one goes from the tub to the pump the other goes from the pump to the house drain. You should have got a 6-8 foot section of corrigated drain pipe, this goes to the house, bends around on one end and into the house drain. the other end goes to the machine, you may have to lay down to attach it, I cant remember which side that pump is on, but it should be easily identified

I have an old home that has a very space drain pipe. I bought a new Maytag top load washing machine. The drain pipe is too large for the drain pipe. 2 plumbers have told me the drain pipe will have to...

Whirlpool now own Maytag and with a W/P top load machine there is an adaptor which reduces the diameter of the drain hose. Not knowing the diameters of your drain hose, or the plumbing of your house, I can't say for sure that this is a remedy. However it's worth trying. Contact a Whirlpool stockist and see if the adaptor is the correct size for your new Maytag. Or you may be able to drain the new machine into a laundry tub which then flows into the house drain. This is a normal way of 'taking up the slack'.
I'm surprised your plumbers didn't suggest it.
Good luck Nomess

Is it possible to slow down or reduce the rate at which water drains out of the washing machine? My drain line is restricted and if the load is more than "Small", it drains too quickly and starts...

There is no flow adjustment on the drain on any washing machine, I had a similar problem on my old washing machine, I discovered the problem was the waste water pipe in my house was clogged with scum from detergent residue, I poured liquid plumber where the washing machine drain hose goes into the waste pipe in the house waited for 1/2 hour, then filled the washing machine with hot water, reinserted the drain hose, and wrapped it up with duct tape to prevent further leaks, and the force of hot water uncloged the pipe, .Problem solved

Would like to know the correct way to have the drain hose from washing machine to drain under house

It must be drained into a sewer line. If drained under the house such as a crawl space on the ground you will receive mildew throughout your whole house ruining clothes, leather products, & your health

Foul odor after washing - what's happening? should the drain hose go down to the floor, before it goes back up to the house drain?

This is hard to rectify without seeing the machine, but it sounds like you are getting drain smells. Do you have a water trap in your pipe that goes to the drain? if not then install one this will stop the drain smell getting into the house. No the outlet pipe from the washing machine should not need to go to the floor. Other than that you may have a build up of slime in your machine you can by products in the shop for cleaning the machine.

Washer continuously fills but drains at the same time during rinse cycle.

you have the drain pipe too low into tthe house drain pipe, raise the washers drain pipe up , you only need four inches down into the hous drain

also the house drain pipe needs to be as high as the lid of the machine before you put the washer drain tube into the house drain

you have a syphoning effect
