The video information to the LCD screen is lost. This can be a faulty video cable/connector or a faulty LCD screen.
The graphics card on the Acer is OK, that is why when you connect a LCD monitor to the video port on the Acer you see the normal Windows images.
Try re-seating the video cable connector on the motherboard.
If this doesn't fix your then the LCD screen is faulty.
Replacement screen are available on the Internet. Try this company for replacement screen. www.lcdparts.net
try pressing the fn key and F5 or look for 2 monitors on one of the F keys its F5 on my acer 5520 that switches display modes also try going into the bios i think its F2 as soon as you turn on the laptop press F2 or look on the screen for the key to enter setup or bios and restore everything to default save settings restart
It appears that the display has gone out in the computer. Sorry to say but you have two options.
1. You can take the computer to a computer repair shop and get a new motherboard put in.
2. You can go buy a new computer.
They both will cost about the same but it is more worth it to buy a new computer in my opinion. The reason i say this is originally i was thinkning that the LCD monitor in the laptop may have gone out but if it is not showing anything on an external monitor than the computer is not putting out any display at all.
