Question about IBM ThinkPad T23 2647 Notebook
If you mean by "broken" it does not light up, likely your inverter is shot.
All LCD screens depend on an inverter to light them up, and they are relatively easy to install. You do not have to replace the screen, unless it is physically busted. Same thing happens on largescreen TVs. How to tell? haven't a clue. I have heard that if you unplug your CPU for sufficient time, your password will disappear. I'm afraid that you may need to do a complete system install to start afresh if no one else hs any ideas--and check with HP--they are pretty helpful
