MY WASHER STARTED NOT DRAINING COMPLETELY, ON THE NEXT WASH IT STAYED IN CYCLE, WATER CAME IN AND IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS WASHING BUT THE DRUM DID NOT TURN. I TRIED IT IN SPIN AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT TURNED 3 TIMES THEN NOTHING. IT IS STILL JUST SITTING IN THE SPIN CYCLE. ANY IDEAS?

Re: JUST STAYS IN CYCLE AND DOES NOTHING
the filters are usually located behind the plastic kick plate on the front of the machine or behind a flap also on the front of the machine.
if the filters are all clean then it maybe that the motor brushes are worn down and so the machine wont spin
it could possibly be a faulty pressure switch not telling the machine that the water has completely gone and again wont spin.
hope this helps

mine just started doing this on the wash cycle then we have to turn it to drain and spin. Last night it filled with water and refused to do anything else so it said it was done, open the lid and still full of soap and water. Turn it to drain and press the start button and it does nothing, no lights come on. We bought it in 2012, before the washer we had was purchased in 2000, and we are still using the dryer from 2000.
my Indesit washing machine start washing normally taking water and spinning and draining but for each cycle i have to do manual its automatic cycle is not working by it self the way it meant and suppose to be . for example if i start on number 3 to wash it just stay on number 3 not moving to next cycle . plz can anyone knows why this happen .?
First check your washer plug to see if the connections are tightly
screwed. Next check your filter if you haven't for long.
the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel under the
washer door. Your filter door will be light brown. If you find a hose
there it is to drain out excess water (water that could not be drained
by your pump) After you hv drained unscrew the cap and
remove all the junk inside. Have a large plastic bag to catch junk and
water. Refit carefully after cleaning out. If not solved, something
shd be blocking your pump, check this out
Sounds like your drain is laying on the floor, or your stand pipe is too low, or the drain hose is too far down in the stand pipe. The drain must be at least as hi as your water level in the machine at it's fullest level, otherwise it will just siphons out almost as quickly as it fills.
It sounds like a siphon issue. Check
that the drain hose does a high loop before it goes into the drain
pipe. (ie. drain hose loops above the water level inside the tub). Make
sure the drain hose is not pushed too far down into the drain pipe.
Also if the drain hose is sealed to the drain pipe this will create an
airlock and a siphon will occur, allow air to enter between drain hose
and drain pipe connection. This should help you but if there is still a problem let me know and I'll try to assist you further. Good luck!
Can you give me a model and brand name. Does the washer drain at any time during the wash cycle?
Will it go into a spin at all in any setting? heavy duty, normal and delicate cycle? is water not draining?
Inspect the drain hose, see if there is any obstruction. Try to understand if the machine does not drain at all or if the cycle is not completing , and timer stops before completinc cycle.
If the machine is not draining, then, once you check the drain hose and see no obstruction in there, it can be a faulty drain pump, or a faulty water level switch. If machine instead does not complete the cycle, it is a faulty timer/programmer.
most washer weight about 150 to 200 pds.. if you clothes are coming out dry out of the final spin cycle theres nothing wrong...there is always a little water that stays in the washer maybe a gallon or so...
