Question about PC Desktops

I have a CanoScan LiDE 25 flatbed scanner. My computer is telling me that it cannot communicate with scanner. Everything is connected and I have uninstalled and re-installed twice and still get the same response. Can you help?

    The scanner is relatively new so cable should be O.K. Any other suggestions?

    Go into the Device Manager (location varies between the two Operating Systems- try right-clicking on "My Computer" and selecting "Properties).

    Look to see if there is an entry for this Canon LIDE scanner. If so, delete it. Windows will ask, "Are you sure?" Say yes.

    Unplug and replug your scanner to the computer. The computer should re-detect it and be able to communicate with it again.

Please check the connected cable .this problem is related to communication between your computer and scaner.

    See CanoScan LiDE 25 flatbed scanner comes with only single USB cable ,who works both data communication & power cable. so if your Computer is detecting this scanner , and scanner is initialised and the time of computer booting then its mean cable is working perfectly , Inthis case you have to contact Canon Authorised Service Centre.

Power went off while scannig. The scanner doesn't work anymore.


Unplug your scanner, reinstall the drivers from the scanner disk, restart your computer plug your scanner back in and it should work fine.

I have a CanoScan LiDE 70 scanner. It won't speak to my computer. It is plugged in to USB. Message appears saying try switching it on, but I can't find any switch. Icon appears in directory. Tried re...


first check whether u have installed all the usb drivers
then uninstall the scanner software and install it again without connecting your scanner.
there is no switch on it u will have to remove the power connection
restart ur computer when u finish installing the drivers
connect your scanner when u restart ur computer

scroll down to where you see the "drivers and downloads" tab and select it if not already there. select your operating system in the selection box . download the driver to your desktop so you can find it easily. run it and follow the prompts to install.

click on downloads and software, select your windows from the list. and then download the driver

TWAIN Driver - LiDE 500F Scanner Driver Ver. 11.2.2.0a_xp (Windows Vista/XP/2000) lide500fvst11220a_xpen.exe


Ones you have succesfully installed the product, you can try scanning a document with the paint program for example.

start -> run (or hold down windows key and press r) type in mspaint and press ok

now in paint, click file and from scanner or camera, scan a document by following the on screen instructions

Iwant to install software for a Canoscan LiDE 35, scanner, to load the toolbox the software says I need Windows 2000 or better, I have Vista, it will not load


this program is not compatable wiht vista is sound like you have a older model of scanner. when they say 2000 or better they mean up to xp. you might try going to vista and see if they have a update driver for that kind of scanner.
