If you plugged or unplugged a HD to a computer when the computer is running, you have quite probably fried the HD *unless it's an EXTERNAL HD with a USB connection, which could be more resistant to this type of abuse).
I suggest you download SeaTools from Seagate and check the HD, but I think it;s pretty sure to say that it's gone

Seagate Portable Hard drive 4TB, part number 2N1AP6-500

Hi,

Please put your computer into safe mode before attempting to connect to the hard drive again. Safe mode turns some feature off when activated so whatever program is forcing the shutdown might have be paused when connecting to the external hard drive.

Also, try connecting the hard drive to a non-laptop intermediary device and then connecting that device to your computer and attempting to access the hard drive folder within the intermediary drive.

Thank you.

My hard drive firmware is damaged, can i recover data with the hep of software.

If this happened because you attempted to update it?Did you keep a backup of the old firmware?Have you tried to source the older firmware from forums?
If the answer is No to all the above.Have you tried using any recovery software on it?The first thing i would attempt is use a disk utility such as testdisk to see if it is just the masterboot record.Testdisk can reset this. The best complete utility is Hirens 16.1 which is pretty much every utility which you burn to disc from a working machine.Google hirens..download..burn to disc or usb...then set the machine boot sequence to run the usb or dvd first. This boots any machine outside the operating system which means you can diagnose , read and repair non booting hard drives. You can run it either as a mini windows xp or as Linux.replace missing files such as ndlr.Look for test disk.this usually repairs a corrupt master boot record which can get damage by malicious software.
Linux will read any mac drive too.It will allow you to copy or clone files from drives as long as they spin up.If none of this works the last resort is a data recovery company.Do not attempt to source an identical board...because the ic main chip that holds the correct parameters on yours will only read yours and needs to be resoldered onto a donor board using a hot air solder tool.It too specialised to attempt if you do not have experience.good luck.

Dear sir, Intel 845GVSR Mother board problem was memory beep sound comes. I will replace the 504H (U6H1) near by ram slot, after replace the ic no peep sound come, but no display. post card showing...

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

ChMy maxtor hard drive is making beeping noises when connected to my computer. It does not come up at all, it does beeps and stays beeping. Any suggestions?

step 1
Check the power to the hard drive also check all the connections on the hard drive .

Step 2
you need to get Spinrite HARD DRIVE DIAGNOSTICS and burn it to a CD and boot into BOS to run the CD and check the hard drive for errors, The beeps mean that the hard drive has a big problem.

if the problem is still there let me know.

The board got burn on one of the chip

You have two separate questions.

1. I have a Quantum hard drive which got a burn on one of it chip on the green part it is from an IBM aptiva 95 all of my data is on it .

Unless you can find an _identical_ hard-drive, and disconnect the electronics from that disk-drive, and then connect the electronics to your hard-drive, your data is "lost". Or, find a "Data Recovery Service" -- for a large fee, they will repair your disk-drive, just long enough to burn a bunch of CD/DVD disks to hold all the "data".

2. I have onother that I have accendentally delete one of the partition which is the C drive

Download the "Partition Tool Editor" by the PowerQuest PartitionMagic people (now owned by Symantec):

ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/tools/pq/utilities/ptedit.zip

Unzip the file, and, while the "accident-prone" disk is connected ot your computer, run 'PTEDIT.EXE' to change the Partition Boot Table, to "undelete" the partition. It's *NOT* a tool for "novices" -- think carefully before making any changes to the Partition Table.

The Green Board on the underneiths side of my hard drive has a burn spot on itand doesnt work, can i use a different green board from another hard drive (different brand)i have laying around.

Nope, even on swapping hard drive board with same spec(size, board version) doesn't guarantee success.

Consider how the hard drive is construct on different brand. Initialization, disc number and many things.

It maybe, if it is same spec like size, brand, board version and model batch.

Wiring too hot and burnt through IC unit

There are specialist companies that make good profits by retrieving files from damaged hard drives for people who haven't had the foresight to back them up. If the files are important or essential you should consider using such a company and your insurance might pay part of the cost.

If the files aren't very important a local computer boffin could dismantle your hard drive and fit the hard discs into a healthy drive of the same type and it might work...
