Hi, i have a rover 375 sprint mower & My young son was mowning & has tried to stop the mower & from what i can work out he has bent the wire inside the cable to the throttle - i have tried to straighten it - but mower then wouldn't start - so now i have replaced the plug, cleaned the filter & re-oiled it but it still will not start - tried kicking it but only hurt my foot !!!! - when i took the air filter off to clean i noticed that the two small springs under looked very loose - but from just looking at them i could possibily take them off & just attach the wire from the throttle cable direct. what to do !!! cheers Howard

I think you may have a briggs & stratten engine on your rover mower .Am sending some info ,Hope this helps . Genuine Briggs & Stratton
Ignition Coil Fits 2 to 4HP Engines
The ends of both springs hook at the loop of the metal linkage connecting the governor vane and throttle shaft. The other end of the small spring hooks onto a small upright plate approximately 1 inch towards to the front of hooked end of the spring. The longer spring hooks onto a large hole in the throttle plate.
A problem that does occur is the plate becomes bent when the mower us pushed under shrubs. This drops the speed of the mower to a low idle. If this is the case then with a pair of pliers, gently twist that metal plate to obtain a RPM setting of 3,100. Don't be tempted to increase the revs to much or the conrod will break and punch a hole through the engine block.
remove cutter disc from pto
hold blade in vise and weld the blade bolt head to blade on the grass cutting side using welder ( this transfers heat to threads and helps ) then undo nuts while still clamped in vise
Check the float in the carb. bowl for gumming and clean your carb.. If you haven't done so already. Or you can try running a fuel treatment through your fuel. That may help you with your flooding issues. Good luck.
