Installation problem

Your computer has to recognize MTP. If you plug it into a Windows Vista computer, it will recognize your device. There are steps you can perform for a Windows XP computer to recognize the device without software. Do a search for MTP and Windows XP for those directions. It starts with Adding New Hardware etc...
hope this helps

Hi, Screen displays 'Device manager, Code 0001, see the manual' on LG MP3 Model: FM37. Cant find anything to do with this in the manual. Thanks

download the manual:

If “MTP Media Player”window is displayed when the FM37 is connected to PC, click the “Cancel”button.Above window may not be shown as the Windows user settings.

Select the “LGE MTP PLAYER-FM37”in Windows Explorer.“LGE Internal Storage”folder will be shown.Copy the “FM37.ROM”to the “LGE Internal Storage”folder.Copy the “FM37.PAC”to the CONFIG folder.

Problems with LG MP3 Player (due to a mistake in the operation of the device)

Hi,
I too have had the "Device Manager code 9001 see manual" message come up on my LG unit, after having upgraded the firmware. All my music and photos disappeared and the unit would lock up if I tried to record anything.
I decided to format the device (from the General Settings) and the error message doesn't come up anymore. All my stuff was gone so there was nothing left to lose. It seems to be working now. I hope this helps you guys too.
