How do I set one temperature for the whole day?
To operate as a simple thermostat with one temperature throughout the day, move the slider to the MANual position. Adjust the manual temperature by pressing the TEMPerature or button. The manual temperature can be set anywhere from 5°C to 30°C in 0.5°C steps.

Honeywell Chronotherm III Lowest temperature setting is 45F Any way of getting it lower thanks

If you are successful in setting it lower , you will end up with frozen pipes and large plumbing bills. Since the internal walls of a building can be as much as 20 degrees lower, that the room.
And the location of the thermostat, may be even warmer, that that of the areas where the plumbing is.
Now what is your reason for wanting the thermostat operate at a lower temperature?

Cannot set heat setting by using "hold" feature

make sure it is not telling you room temp, some of the Honeywells, will display room temp over desired temp. check that, if it wont let you switch temp than buy a new one, if you dont have a heat pump a new cheap stat is around 20.00.
