Question about Yamaha HTR-5650 Receiver
Having trouble acheiving 5.1 sound...I am stuck on if it is a connectivity issue or setup issue...I have downloaded the pdf of the owners manual and attempted to confirm that the setup is good...but this has not helped...the unit did have 5.1 connectivity, but now is not able...could I have connections wrong and it simply does not know to "auto" my channels? What are your thoughs? I am going crazy!
MAKE SHURE THAT THE OUT PUT SIGNAL FROM YOUR DVD PLAYER IS SET 2 BITSTREAM 2 GET DOLBY DIGITAL AND DTS FROM YOUR AMP.FROM SOURCES LIKE SET TOP BOXS AND OTHER "STEREO" SOURCES YOU WILL GET PROLOGIC2 ,BUT YOU MUST SET YOUR AMP 2 THIS MODE.

If you receive a stereo signal, 5.1 stereo should always be possible. Let me know if you have further problems. Good luck. GURU JAY
