Question about Proview PL926WBi 19" LCD Monitor
This monitor had the same problem in the first year while it wasunder warranty and was repaired by Sylvania. Is again having the same problem approximately another year later and I really don't want to send it off again since I will have to pay for the repairs this time.
Problem: when I boot up the computer and turn on the monitor, there is no picture. The computer is booting up fine just not showing a picture on the monitor. Over the past few weeks, I was able to turn the power switch off and on the picture would come on for a second and then go black. If I turned it off and on several times it would eventually catch and stay on. Once the picutre was on it would stay on fine with no problems. Unfortunately the power went off the the house and the problem has progressed to the point that the picture will not stay on no matter how many times I turn the monitor off and back on. Any ideas on how I might be able to fix the monitor myself? Could it be the switch or a fuse?
Well the first and second paragraphs make me say the Inverter/power board must be replaced.
A white display typically means either your display cable (in your monitor) is loose or logic board is dead.
Either one of these things typically mean take it in for an estimate to repair, and if it's too much, buy a new one.
With your luck I think I might switch to big cheap CRT.
