Is that in a PC or a standalone DVD Recorder.
If it's in a PC then the burning software you use sholud have it in the help file.
If it's a standalone DVD Recorder it will tell you in the user manual. If you don't have it and you can post the make and model number of the recorder someone here may be able to tell you where to get it from.

I am able to copy my vhs to dvd on this device and it will play back on this device but the dvd's will not play on any other player. Can you help with this please?

Not completely sure about the "device" you used to make the recordings, but most likely the reason for them not playing on another player is that whenever you record DVDs, in order for them to be readable by regular players, the DVD must be "finalized". Once that is done, and the device you used to record the DVD should be able to do that, then you should be able to play them on a regular DVD player. Know this, however, that finalizing the disc means that no more data can be recorded to it.

Finalize a Disc on Mangavox MWR10D6

No. Generally finalising just writes the unused spaces as unused so the player knows and adds a stop code. The shorter the DVD the longer the finalise. An hour and a half on two hours is plenty of space.

Won't play on any other dvd

You have to use your friend's DVD recorder to finalize the disc. Once the DVD is finalized, it will play in other DVD players.
On your friend's DVD recorder, pop the disc in, and use his remote to go to Setup --> Disc Edit --> Finalize --> OK
Voila!

DVD unable to play tv recorded items

If you can see recording on the flip side..it is either a disc patch fix (software) obtained thru Go Video..or find another go video recorder to finalize it..you might try unplugging the unit for a minute or two..and try it again...

Playing recorded dvds on another player

Re-finalize one more time. On some Philips/Mag players, finalize fails the first time.

If it still won't work, then use a computer program like Dr. Divx to finalize the discs.

Dvd recorded movies will not play on my other dvd players

Before removing the DVD from the recorder, it must go through a process called finalization. Once you finalize the discs, then it will be able to be seen on most DVD players. Check your recorder's documentation on how to finalize your discs.

Dvd-ram 4.7gb

DVD RAM discs don't need finalised, hence its not an available option.

They will play directly on other players -*** BUT*** ONLY DVD

RAM players.

Don't expect your RAM disc to play on a normal

DVD+/-RW DVD +/-R device. Its not going to happen unless the

device supports DVD RAM also. If it does, it will play your RAM

disc once you've finished recording in your own DVD RAM

recording unit. Pop it out of your unit, straight into the other, and

the jobs done.
