are you talking about the element or thermostat? i have the same model & am in the process of troubleshooting, replaced the element already that had a broken coil but still no heat. i may have the wires wrong that attach to the element. can you shed any light on this? there are 4 wires & connections & not sure i have them correct. dryer runs perfectly, but not heat after replacing the element.

Sure can!
Most Kenmore style dryers have a heating element that has a long wire coil inside it, (often there are two wires or elements inside one housing). Regardless, if you have carefully checked the air exhaust, and you find it is "perfect" ( means no back-up heat from a plugged or impeded air flow) and you have determined the air flow inside the machine is like new, ( no back up there either), then what has possible happened is the wire heating element has wiggled loose and is touching itself, thereby shorting out and making super heat.
The wire coils are usually held loosely in place with white ceramic rings, to keep them from touching the metal housing. If you carefully remove the heating element "box or "tube" and look inside , you may be able to see the problem. Testing it with an ohm meter will not work, it will simply test OK. The element is made to heat at a certain temperature according to it's length, if it touches itself, the elecrttricity will take the shortest route and may make your element glow white hot in one spot. Be blessed.

Bad heating element or bad thermo fuse.
You will have to unplug the dryer and remove the back to access the heating element. The thermo fuse is located on the side of the heating element.
If you don't have a meter to test the element and thermo fuse or just don't know how simply remove them from the dryer and take them to your local appliance repair shop and they can test them for you.

Kenmore Elite electric dryer-65942401 and it runs but does not heat. I have heard that best thing to do is replace heating element, but is there anything else that needs replacing along w/it, and we can't...

You need to check the breaker, often the heat 1/2 of the 220 volt breaker trips and is not visually obvious. Best to know so check with a volt meter, or forceably turn off the breaker, FULLY off, press hard, and then back on and test again. If it keeps happening, you may need to have an electrition investigate.

There is very little failure of heating elements, but not unheard of. More common is a bra wire shorts the element. remove it and often you are good to go, but sometimes it burns through.

Kenmore Stackable washer/dryer Model #11088752793, won't heat

Hi,
Either the elements have blown, or it could be a device called a thermal overload which has popped. (There may also be a loose wire which connects to the heating elements). Have your drier checked out by a good handyman or technician.
Best wishes,

My kenmore series dryer does not heat. the timer

the heater element has two parts to the heat coil if one of the coils breaks it will not get hot enough to heat the load all the way to set of the sensor to stop . it seems like you need to replace your heat element . if you want to know how to take it apart i have a couple of posts that tell how or reply back the coil costs about 89 dollars you can get one pre strung for around double the cost
