Question about InFocus ScreenPlay 4805 Multimedia Projector
It looks like my light tunnel is bad. I turned on my projector and the right side of the screen looks like there's a dark shadow on it. Is it the light tunnel? If so, is it repairable or does it have to be replaced. I am a disabled mom of four children and saved forever to get this and now it is broken. If it can be repaired, where do you get a diagram, manual etc or if it has to be replaced, where can I get the part and a diagram and manual?. Is it an expensive fix? THanks so much for your help. It's nothing to do with the bulb or dust, I don't know why some people encourage others to buy a new lamp when this is so expensive and then find that it does not solve the problem. Shadows on the sides of the projected image are almost certainly to be the light tunnel collapsing and one side of it is being pushed by the clip that is holding it thus creating the shadow. The shadow would normally be on the left if the projector is the right way up (ie.on a table). If it is ceiling mounted (upside down) it would show on the right. I gave instructions elsewhere on how to do this, it is not for the faint hearted as you can easily damage the colour wheel while doing this as this is very fragile. Another thing is that you don't have to align the tunnel after replacing it as long that you don't try to adjust any of the aligning screws before hand. I speak from experience, a lot of it.

All you have to do is replace the bulb. there is dust making that dark spot on the right. you need to clean the 4805. it gets dusty which buils up in that area on the right

Yes, you are describing a light tunnel failure and it can be repaired. The parts are available, I just don't have any on hand right now. I will be ordering more this week. The part is about $40.00 plus shipping. The repairs can be challenging if you are not experienced. The color wheel has to be removed to get to the light tunnel The light tunnel is very fragile and easily broken.
