Question about D-Link 4-Port Ethernet Broadband Router EBR-2310 (EBR2310)

1 Answer

D-link EBR-2310 Hey, I've had my wired router for many a day now and have experienced few problems. All of that changed when I bought a Sager NP9262 and tried to add it to my network (2 computers). Everything usually ends up fine when I just reboot the router by going to 192.168.0.1 in my browser and follow the on screen instructions. Until today when I got a little greedy and instead of going through the 7 or 8 steps and tried to enter in [ip_address]/wizard_wan5.html. After that, the router never rebooted and I lost all connection to the internet. The only way that I'm writing this now is I plugged the ethernet cable directly into the back of my modem. That works fine, but it's only for one computer and I would like to have my network back : \ . Currently, the lights just flash on and off in a sequence starting with the internet light flickering, then all four ports lighting up (no matter how many computers are plugged in) and then it all goes blank and then restarts. I've tried pulling the power plug out of the back of it for 10 seconds then plugging it back in and that doesn't work. When I hold down the reset button the lights work semi-properly: the lights stay lit up for the proper ports, but nothing works. I would really appreciate any and all help. Thanks a million, Isaac.

I can't access the internet through my router nor can I access the router config page. Is there some way that I can roll back my router's firmware upgrades? I think that if I can restore it to its default settings that I can figure it out on my own...

Thanks for the help thus far!

    Isaac.

You need a FIRMWARE UPGRADE. Download the latest firmware for your router. So the router still got lights on it. If the pc connected to the router can access the router configuration page, you still have a chance in upgrading the router. Assign a static ip on your pc(192.168.0.5) so that you will have a stable connection between the pc and the router during the firmware upgrade.

Good Luck

I have an ADSL D-Link modem (DSL-300G)that works fine. I hooked a D Link wired router, EBR-2310 and can't get to the internet. It use to work until one day recently the kid moved wires arround because no...

First: Connect your computer directly to the ADSL modem. It has an Ethernet port.
If you can't get to the Internet while your computer is connected directly to the modem, then ytour router never will either. Call ISP if you can't connect to the Internet when directly conencted to the modem.
Next: Check your router wires again, The modem must be connected to the "special" port on the router. Look at the router. There is one port separated from the rest. Connect the modem to that port. Conenct to the Internet.
Still no Internet?
Reset your router by pushing a stylus (straightened-out paperclip) into the reset "hole" on the router (with router powered ON).
Push & hold for 30 seconds or until the lights do their reset dance. Connect to the INternet.

Can I piggyback a wireless router onto a hard-wired router?

Yes, you can connect the DI-624 to your exitsing EBR-2310, you just need to connect the a cable from port 4 of the EBR-2310 to the internet/wan port of the DI-624, then after that you can already use now the wireless to your laptop and also the wired router to your desktops.
But I may suggest you to just replace the EBR-2310 with the DI-624 so you will only be using 1 router that can cater your laptop and also your desktop, Just connect the cable from your modem that is conencted now to your EBR-2310 to the internet/wan port of the DI-624 then run the setup CD that should be it.

Hope that helps...........
