DRUM WON't TURN on my Roper Dryer

I'm pretty sure its the belt because the motor is running. I just wanted to know if I have to take the entire thing apart just to replace the belt. I already have the casing on the back off but it seems pretty complicated to take the whole thing apart.

You can put the back back on, remove the 2 screws under the lint filter( if ones mounted to top of machine ), then the top tips back revealing 2 5/16 screws holding the front panel on. lift off hte panel and string new belt arond drum and hook ove rht e motro pulley , first passing the belt through the idler tension pulley. belt number is a 341241

REPLACING THE DRUM BELT

Belt should go around entire drum then around motor pulley (which is metal) and tensioner/safety pulley (which is the white pulley)

I have a Roper dryer res764kq2 and it will not tumble. I have taken the back panel off to find the belt is broken however I can determine how to get to the drum to replace the belt

Unplug the dryer and take it outside.
Step 1: remove the filter
Step 2: Remove 2 screws from filter chute on top of dryer
Step 3: Pull top towards you on each side slightly to raise it
Step 4: Remove 2 screws inside the front panel
Step 5: Unplug the lid switch using small screw driver
Step 6: Raise up the panel 1 inch then remove it
Step 7; Remove the drum
Step 8: clean it up and lube the roller & idler
Step 9: Remove the filter chute and clean it
Step 10: Place the new belt (341241) around the drum with
the ribbed side towards the drum surface making sure it is not twisted.A twisted belt will be ruined quickly.
Step 11: Use belt to help you place the drum back in the dryer.
Step 12: Make sure the rollers are in the groove and the felt is not tucked under.
Step 13: Insert the idler into the floor beneath the motor puller and raise up on it. Then loop the belt through the idler and onto the motor pulley.
Step 14: Turn the drum a bit by hand making sure the belt is on track and not twisted.
Step 15: Replace front panel
Step 16 plug in lid switch
Step 17 Snap down the top install the screws to the filter chute and shove the filter back in.
Step 18: Give it a dry run fer a sec to make sure it works well before throwing any clothes in there.
Step 19: Grab a cold one. You deserve it!

Belt slipping off motor pulley and idler arm has come away from machine. how do I get it back in. model aye2200agw

What I do is remove that brace so I can get both arms in there. The whole thing has to be done sight unseen. Basically you gotta have this dryer on a table or a work bench. Sit down in a chair and reach in there yank the idler up and loop the belt on it and the motor in a zigzag pattern. Let loose of the whole thing and then turn the tub so that you know for sure the belt ain't twisted. You can cut your arms up pretty good if ain't careful.

I think the belt broke or came off. Sounds like it would be easy todo. what is the best course to take? I thought that taking it apart to validate and confirm then ordering the belt and doing it myself....

Just pull it apart get the belt out & take it to a belt shop, care fully replace the belt just be carefull the belt will also go around a spring loaded pulley so when the belt brakes the motor will shut off - pretty easy 1/2 work - save heaps.....

The dryer heats but the drum does not turn. sherryd863@aol.com

The belt is likely needs replacing. Before taking it apart turn the dryer on and listen for the sound of the motor running. If it is the belt is broken. If not it could be several things ie; motor, timer, shorted or open wire. Here is a link for the belt Dryer belt replacement The belt is inexpensive and easy to replace. You can also watch videos of the other possible problems at the same site.

After replacing my belt and drum rollers my roper dryer has a clicking noise as it rotates

Could be a lot of things causing it, blower wheel, motor, idler pulley, rollers. Dryers have several moving parts that could cause a clicking sound. The blower fan could be coming into contact with something. There is a motor, tensioner and a belt that turn the main drum, the tensioner for the belt could be loose thus causing the clicking noise as well.
