The ice maker has ice in it but will not dump, the water despenser works fine. The red light blinks when the door is open.

I just noticed you had posted a question to me. Apparently the FixYa notification thing is not working to notify me. I figure you have already gotten the ice maker working by now but if you have not I am happy to help.
Most likely cause of your problem is the ice maker motor MODULE probably is bad. If you remove the white cover and find the white driven gear is not flatly snug against the module face or if you remove the module and find any burned contacts it is bad. If you find burned contacts you probably will have to replace the whole ice maker. While you have the ice maker out of the refrigerator be sure to check the condition of the coating on the ice maker mold. If it is peeling you will want to replaced the complete ice maker.
I really hope this has been of some help to you.

The ice maker has stopped making ice. The red light is flashing (in the freezer. Part ot technician?

Hi, The blinking red light is just a sensor that shuts down the ice maker when the door is open so that it will not dump. This should have no effect on why the ice maker is not working unless the little door that blocks the beam does not return when the door is shut again...
Here is a tip that I wrote about the reasons why ice makers do not work.

Sounds like the optics are bad part # 4389102 this model(if we have the right model#)has two optics boards one receiver one emitter on either side of the door opening which shoot a beam from one to the other through the opening in each side of the bin,as long as nothing blocks that beam and the freezer is cold enough to chill the thermostat to temp in the icemaker, then it should be dumping ice.

Ice maker not working

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . Also , check the black fill hose that fill the ice maker , to make sure it is not frozen . If the ice maker dumps the cubes , then replace the water inlet valve . If the ice maker holds the ice , and does not dump , replace the ice maker . When you open the freezer door , the laser light , should blink twice , then pause ,repeatedly . If you close the flap on the left side , the laser should go off . These are indication that the optics are good . If you open the door , and no laser light , then that means that the ice maker is in the harvest (dump) mode . If it stays this way , ice maker is bad .

Ice maker has ice in it but will not dump in bin!

before i would worry about the lights flashing lets pull the front cover off of the icemaker and verify that the drive gear is not broken.

on the bottom of the icemaker is 1 screw. remove that screw then just slide the entire icemaker out of the refrig so that you can access the front cover. if the gear is broken just replace the front motor module pt# 8201515

if the gear is fine then located in the toe grille of your refrig is a tech sheet that will help you troubleshoot red light blinking.

Are you able to see if you can push a Q-tip or something up the fill tube line to see if it's frozen up inside there. It happens on certain units. You may need to take the Ice Maker out (easy) to get to the fill tube.
