I am trying to network a 2015dn printer through a server that is running windows server 2003. I ave the disk that came with the printer a couple of years. When I try and install using this CD, i get the message that the driver is not compatible with my OS. A couple of years ago I network an identical printer through this server, with the aid of one of the HP tech people. I don't remember if we had to tweak the install. I am currently using this printer with MacBooks that go directly through airports and find the printer.

A printer with the NIC eliminates the need for complicated network printer configuration because it simplifies the way it is set up within the network. A network printer is not necessary in order to share a printer within a home/office network get more information for Network Printer Configuration .

How do i install windows 2003 standard, to my new Acer AT110 F2? on Acer smart cd there's no option for 2003 server :(

I just checked the specs and it supports Windows Server 2003 so it must be possible. They probably did not make a setup wizard for it so you will have to do it the "old fashioned" way. Load the Windows Server 2003 disk in the CD/DVD drive and boot to it as you would any Windows install. If it reaches the screen where it displays the hard disk(s) you are good to go. While the installation is running go to Acer's website on another computer and download the 2003 drivers to a USB drive. When the installation completes, install the 2003 drivers and you are ready to customize it to your needs.
If it doesn't find the hard disks, you probably purchased the optional PCIe 4-port SAS RAID card and Windows 2003 doesn't have a built-in driver for it. You will need to press F6 after Windows install starts so it will prompt you later for a driver for your disk controller. This will allow you to manually install the driver which you should be able to find on Acer's website. (F6 Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F6_disk)
I hope this helps!

Cant configre printer sharing via web on win server 2003

Yes is possible. Use Routing and Remote Access facility from Windows 2003 server to create a VPN Server. Create a VPN connection to Windows server, and thus you get an IP address from windows 2003 server and you can use printer.

Dell 1600n printer driver for Windows 2003 Server

I had a similar problem deploying these printers, however i found using the XP drivers in 2003 does work fine. Not sure why dell doesnt have an installer for this printer in 2003 server, but here you go.

ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/printer/R165289.EXE

extract that file, note its destination directory. do not attempt to run the setup.exe, it will fail saying your operating system is not supported.

instead navigate to (if you didnt change the path) C:DelldriversR165289p0nPrinterPCLWINXP

this folder contains the driver you need to install manually.

one stange thing about these lexmark based network printers is the need to select 'local printer' during install, uncheck automatically search for my device, and then create a new TCP/IP port. Use the IP address provided by the network configuration print out you can access on the front panel of the printer. now just make sure to select 'lexmark network card' as the type of network interface. it should now ask you for your printer type, click have disk, and point to the driver folder mentioned earlier.

hope this helps. thanks alot dell.

Not working on window 2003 server as a network printer

I have had a similar issue with both laserjet 3005N and 1320N machines setup as network printers on a windows 2003 print server. Both machines install correctly and print test pages but once you push to much of a print job to it (in my case it was a 12mb pdf file) the printer stops printing and never prints again for some reason. After a quick reboot a test page will print but what gives?? Buffer issues? Not enough ram? None of this makes sense since the printer displays nothing and just stops printNo test pages or anything. I tried re-installing it and rebooting it. Nothing.

Unable to use printer over network with Server 2003 64Bit

Probably the best and easiest solution for your problem would be to buy an EDIMAX USB-Ethernet print server, or something equivalent. I have several of these running on the network at work. They're easy to setup and they work great.
