Question about Averatec 6100 Notebook
Most Lithium Ion battery's are good for about a year and a half or so typically. They begin to loose their abilty to retain a charge over time. For example, I have a 4 yr old Laptop and the original battery only last's 3 - 5 minutes on a full charge. However you should confirm that your power cord is charging the battery to rule out the possibilty of a bad power cord. You can do this by going to START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL (switch to classic view if using XP)>POWER OPTIONS. Check out my article on battery life at http://pchelpforanyone.blogspot.com/2007/12/laptop-battery-life.html
Hope this helps.
