Sorry can't solve the problem... yet. But I have exactly the same problem with the same TV. Sound but no pic, and a toko inverter board that has four 4511GH components that look like they have been getting too hot. I get a ticking noise from the power board when it is running, and that dissapears if I run it without the inverter board attached. Did you get anywhere with the fix? I am not an expert so don't know if it is as simple as replacing these four components althogh its the one between CN6 and CN7 that looks worst. Any help?

Thanks.

I changed the lamp in my tv, after replacing it tv runs about 15 minutes picture starts to fliker then I can smell like its burning

Sounds like its lamp inverter board too is faulty. Replace it. It is a good practice that the inverter board and lamp should replace at one time. No picture no sound

Hi, it could be bad inverters or a bad power supply. I'd inspect both boards. you should have 24 volts coming from the power supply to the inverter. If you have the 24 volts, bad inverter. If you don't have the 24 volts, bad power supply.

The inverter is the high voltage board that provides variable power to the backlight lamp. This is the most common. When inverter is faulty you can get no picture, or a very dim picture that can only be seen by pointing a torch light with a 45 degree angle on the LCD surface from very near distance. The inverter must be tested by reading voltages with a multimeter.

My maxent TV has no picture and no sound

If an LCD TV has sound but no picture do the following:

Use the source button to ensure that source is not set to the wrong input.

Try unplugging power cord for ten minutes, to ensure it is not a setting problem.

Check all the video cables at the back of TV.

Check Light /Color settings.

If problem persist and does not depend on external receiver or settings, then it is likely an internal fault.

If it has sound but no picture then one of the following parts is faulty, and must be tested and replaced:

The inverter is the high voltage board that provides variable power to the backlight lamp. This is the most common. When inverter is faulty you can get no picture, or a very dim picture that can only be seen by pointing a torch light with a 45 degree angle on the LCD surface from very near distance.

The LCD ribbon cable/LCD display and connectors.
This is quite uncommon, but happens. If the TV had been hit or moved the LCD cable may have slipped out, or the LCD connector may be damaged.

The LCD controller board.
This is the board that controls the video signal, it is difficult to test, as there is need to read determined values on IC pins. To test this board you need to purchase a service manual and follow the troubleshooting diagrams on service manual.

Input/Output Signal boards.
This are the boards where you connect the video and audio cables, if a signal board is defective, then you may get no picture on particular inputs located on faulty board.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual.

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

In your case the led flashing is indicating protection mode. That usually indicates an internal fault.

Can you repair a damaged Samsung LCD LN32A33 TV Screen ?, and if so where? and how much ? The tv has sond but there's no picture !

LCD TVs use an inverter to drive the back lights, without it you get sound but no picture - sometimes you can see dark shadows, but not always. I have repaaired inverter boards, but they are available from companies such as Grandata. Other companies supply tested boards from used equipment at significant savings. Often manufactures use the same board in several models and different manufactures may use the same boards, common inverter boards being much cheaper. However, get someone to check that it is the board before replacing it! Other faults can cause this, but it is common for the inverter to fail.

A repair question for the RCA M50WH74S

If the TV goes in standby, then it is in protection mode.

Ensure also that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem on DVD with no receiver box
connected.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the TV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

LCD/Plasma Electronic Replacement Parts: Plasma & LCD TVs, Appliances |

On LCD Pay particular attention at inverter and power board, power board can be inspected looking for bulged or leaking capacitors, then tested with a multimeter. The inverter is more difficult to test , there is need to read voltages, should be done by a tech. Also the LCD controller board can cause same problem

On Plasma, test Sustain (Ysus/Zsus) / Buffer boards , cables to plasma, digital board and power board.

On Rear Projection : check lamp, lamp ballast, power board, and convergence.

On CRT TVs, check ballast , flyback transformer, CRT, Tuner, Convergence.

This problem might be caused by a faulty inverter circuit or a faulty backlight circuit. These are usually located on the video board. I would suggest that you have a qualified TV technician troubleshoot this problem and then give you an estimate on the cost. You could also just replace the video board with a new one, however I would advise against this because, the problem could also be caused by a faulty power supply in the the power supply section that supplies the video board could be bad. It is better to have a TV technician look at the set first and from that you develop your next course of action.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,
