HI. If this is being accompanied by a blinking red light, this will lead to GPU solder separation. Due to the poor design of the heat-sink/fan assembly, this condition is quite common in most PS3 consoles. Now, if your unit only freezes up during game play, or system activity(with no blinking red light), the Hard drive will then be the culprit. It is damaged. The necessary action will be to have the Hard drive replaced, asap.

  • NOTE_ Most GPU issues will need to be repaired by a qualified Sony service tech.

Additionally, make sure all of your media/games are clean, and free of debris before inserting them into your unit. This will cause freezes during game play, as well, if not done correctly.

Xbox 360 Freezing during netflix and dvd playback

If you are using a HDMI connection, often the connection will be lost between your xbox and your tv. In my case I simply change to another channel or the other HDMI channel and then back and the secure HDMI connection will be restored.

PS3 Freezes when it loads certain games

The same thing hapeend to me with Infamous and Killzone 2. It wouldnt happen with MGS4. I replaced the optical lense and the harddrive on the ps3 and it did nothing. I even had a strong fan blowing air into it. Nothing worked. I took an L and sent it to Sony. But thankfully i got the money from gambling craps in Vegas so im not upset about it.

Xbox 360 Freezing Problems

Shutting off the Xbox corrupted the Hard Drive... Have you ever got a Live System Update? You can also reset your Xbox without shutting it off using the controller. You probably have the Three Red Rings of Death... Go to this...

64... or not

Get a cleaning kit and clean out the terminals on the game cartridge and game slot.
Corrosion on the terminals is common on older systems and games.
They should be cleaned regularly. Maybe once a month or as problems occur.
This should always be your first troubleshooting step when a game stops working properly.

Is that the only game this happens to? Is your console is a PAL or NTSC console? Is your TV Standard definition or High definition?
