Question about Computers & Internet

I have an ASRock AM2NF6G-VSTA motherboard that will not power up. I upgraded the system and powered it up and it ran fine, except I had not received the new upgrade power supply. I received and installed the new power supply and no reaction to pressing the power switch. I reinstalled the old power supply, no power up. I reset the CMOS, no power up. what do I check?

Check the power supplies you have if it is working well. then reset cmos.
then if it would not power on, your motherboard maybe a deadset (meaning dead/unusable).

I need to buy a matherboard for my compaq presario sr 5610 f

I just replaced the motherboard in a Compaq SR5610F because the capacitors were swollen and the computer was flaky: rebooting, losing devices, etc.

I bought an ASRock N68-CGS FX, about $50 shipped. The processor and memory from the Compaq work in it, and the board fits just fine in the case; in addition, you can devote 256 megs of shared memory to video (double the Compaq board). If you want to upgrade later, it will take a number of AMD 3 or 3+ processors, and there are two DDR3 memory slots.

My xps710 was flashing amber tech said motherboard or power supply problem replaced both with 720 motherboard new power supply upgraded system with windows 7 additioal harddrives and bluray. same problem...

If the power light is blinking amber, the computer is receiving electrical power, but an internal power problem might exist.

Ensure that the voltage selection switch is set to match the AC power at your location, if applicable

Ensure that the processor power cable is securely connected to the system board

Click on the link below for a diagram of your system motherboard:

Have you added any new hardware?

If you have replaced the Motherboard a common error is that one of the power connections to the motherboard is not connected, double check all connections.

What mother board fit the Sony VAIO VGX-XL2

A micro ATX or mATC motherboard will not fit any Sony VAIO VGX-XL* model HTPC. These systems have a non-standard form factor, proprietary motherboard built for Sony by ASUStek (based on their ASUS P5 boards).

Micro ATX or mATX boards do not match the mounting screw pattern, and the case and rear panel would require major modifications (and many internal components removed and not reinstalled) for any replacement motherboard. The Power Supplty is also non-standard 18-pin version of an ITX low profile model power supply.

There are a few upgrades which can be made to a stock XL2 (up to 4GB RAM, better low-profile video/graphics card, DVD optical drive replacement with Blu-ray, a SSD system OS/BOOT drive), but the motherboard, power supply, BIOS and and OEM Pentium D processor cannot be upgraded (because of a locked BIOS microcode). The XL3 model offers a few more opportunities for upgrade (up to 8GB RAM, upgradeable Core2 Duo processor options) but the rest of the restrictions apply (motherboard, power supply not upgradeable).

No VGA ouput from ASrock K8NF4G VSTA motherboard CMOS battery OK, DDR Dimms OK, HDD OK.

There is only one way to fix this problem, you heave to go out and buy an external VGA of PCI- Express connector, check 1st which one your board supports, then connect your monitor there.

Monitor problems

if you have tested the monitor on another computer then it is not a issue with the monitor if it works..

can you try another monitor on that unit?

if so and it works. then problems solved if not then we know its either a issue with the motherboard or the video card.

nice motherboard

My computer shuts down after 3 secs

Try to separate the power cord of your monitor from your system or maybe if your using UPS(uninterrupted power supply) directly plug the UPS to the wall outlet. either you can use pretty voltage regulator to the regulate the AC power.
if not solve the problem try to examine the your system power supply.
