Freezer get start but shut off after couple of seconds

sounds like bad compressor or start relay

Try removing fluff and debris with a vaccum cleaner after unplugging power. Now power up. good luck

Check condensor not clogged up, fan working etc. If all ok, try new capacitor and relay. If all else fails, replace freezer (compressor replacement is costly)

You have a problem with the ADC.

Frigidaire has also jumped into the market with an adaptive defrost board. The fresh food section light switch and light bulb must work. To initiate a defrost cycle, open the door and push the light switch in and out 5 times within 6 seconds. The compressor and fans should shut off and the defrost heater should come on. Open the door and push the light switch in and out 5 times within 6 seconds to remove the refrigerator from the defrost mode and back into a cooling mode.

This product comes equipped with an Adaptive Defrost Control (ADC). To activate manual defrost, press and hold the Freezer temperature UP (WARMER) key while pressing the Fresh Food temperature DOWN (COLDER) key 5 times within 6 seconds. A "d" in the freezer temperature window and "F" in the refrigerator temperature window will display when the heater is activated. To deactivate manual defrost, press and hold Freezer temperature UP (WARMER) key while pressing the Fresh Food temperature DOWN (COLDER) key 5 times within 6 seconds. "d" and "F" will be displayed until the defrost cycle is complete. (approx. 8 minutes)

have the start capacitor chek by a pro hopefully thats the problem if not its going to gat expensive

The shut off is due to the protective overload mounted on the side of the compressor to shut it down, if it can't start.
On the side of the compressor is a cover box that contains the overload device, a start relay, and on some models, a start/run capacitor.
These items can to a degree tested with an ohm meter, but it is wiser to take them to an appliance parts house for testing.
If any are found defective, replace them. If not, the compressor has failed internally and needs to be replaced. Close to $400.00 if not more.

Installed hard start Kit for this little freezer. No help. Needs new compressor.

Check the relay and/or capicators.

try a new start relay and overload kit specifically for the make and model freezer you are working on. if compressor can be seen ,the numbers on it can be used to get correct oem start cap, relay ,and overload. if your unit is having starting problems that will usually fix it. if however, the stat is failing to bring it on a new stat is called for. but it sounds like it is having starting problems since you said it was off a long while then still struggled on the overload to start then finally did. if the new start components don't work then new freezer time. compressor replacement is to expensive anymore. good luck
