I have the same problem. My Panasonic PT53WX42F was working just fine and out of the blue the TV shut off and the red power on light was blinking with no picture or sound.

Same thing with mine. I took the cover off and vacuumed the dust out of the back of it. Sometimes it will turn itself off after one minute sometimes it will last all day, other times it will turn off after four minutes. What is the problem. It is about 4 years old.

My problem is that the TV will not power on. It will shut down and the power button will blink 3 times. Is this a fixable issue at home or do you need to take it in for service?

Tv wont turn on< red power light just keeps blinking?

I have the same thing. Just started blinking 10 times. Pretty much had to unplug the unit over night. Could never turn it off and then turn it on again.
This worked for about a week. This morning, tried to turn it on after being unplugged. Still blinks.
Called Panasonic. they attempted a couple solutions, nothing. Suggested authorized repair shop.

Cant turn off panasonic PIP

To turn off the "stuck" pip on a Panasonic tv without a remote, turn off the tv. Then hold down the "Action" button on the front of the tv and press the power button. This will activate a reset and self check of the systems and voila! The pesky pip screen will be gone! This is on an approximately 10 year old regular crt "CT-xxxxx" series tv.
