Have a look at this site http://www.superwarehouse.com/Acer_Internal_Hard_Drives/b/6/c/2481

but they look a bit pricey maybe an external drive may be an option (usb).

good luck

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I need to fully update my laptop

you can download the latest drivers from ACER by visiting :
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

choose notebooks > aspire > (your computer model) > operating system to update the drivers

to update the operating system:
for XP : visit support.microsoft.com > click on microsoft update > download the updates into your system

for vista and windows 7: open windows updates from control panel > check for updates then download and install them.

If you want to upgrade the hardware : for a laptop the only components you can upgrade would be the RAMM size (memory) and harddrive size (storage) since most laptops components are integrated. wireless cards can be upgraded but you will need to make sure that the replacement is compatible with your specific model.

I would like to upgrade my Acer Aspire 4315 PC Notebook it has celeron processor 1.73ghz 533mhz fsb 2.53gb ram running on win xp pro what dual core processor can this laptop take?

Well most modern laptops cannot not be upgraded in this manner because the processors are hard soldered on the motherboards. Even if you have a removable type processor the newer dual cores will not be compatible with your type of motherboard.

Hard Disk upgrade

Figured this out...
1)  Flip laptop over, keep front of laptop closest to you and hinges away from you 2)  Remove cover with cylinder/harddrive icon (2 screws) 3)  Remove small single silver screw near the front (close to you) of the laptop in the center of the metal harddrive caddy (the caddy may hold one or two hard drives) 4)  Pull the plastic tab on the left toward the outside of the laptop... the whole caddy with harddrive(s) inside will shift to the left, disconnecting it from the motherboard and lining up the caddy for removal. 5)  Lift the entire bracket straight up
To remove the primary harddrive (the only one present in my model) you must remove the blue L-shaped circuit board from the caddy. 1)  Flip the caddy over 2)  Remove the three screws with slightly larger head diameters around the perimiter of the caddy 3)  Push/slide/jiggle the circuit board so the sata connectors release from the hard drive(s). 4)  Unscrew the hard drive from the caddy
