If you are using an Antenna, Coaxial cable from the wall or a cable/satellite box connected to the TV with a coaxial cable, you will need to do the following steps: 1. Press the INPUT button on your VIZIO remote to view your current input source. Ensure that the TV input is the input that is selected. 2. If the TV input is not selected, press the INPUT button on the remote until the TV or DTV input option is selected. 3. Press the Menu button on your VIZIO remote and select CHANNELS. 4. Select the option that says FIND CHANNELS. 5. Once the scan is completed it will say DONE. Press the OK button on the remote once. This will go back to the channels menu and then you can press the EXIT button to leave the menu. 6. Use the VIZIO remote to change your channels
I am unable to see at a glance how to correct this but it is between its menu, channel and volume buttons to alter the settings it may be worth to run through the re-tune sequence below?
To preset a channel or to change a preset channel, follow the procedure below.
1) Press the POWER button to turn on the TV.
2) Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears
on the TV screen.
3) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "CHANNEL SET".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
4) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "AUTO PRESET CH".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
The tuner scans and memorizes all active channels in your area.
? The TV distinguishes between standard TV channels and cable channels.
? When AUTO PRESET CH action is completed, the lowest memorized channel reappears on the
screen.
? When you press the CH(annel) ? or ? button after selecting "AUTO PRESET CH", the tuner
will stop at the memorized channels only.
? The TV may recognize TV channels to be CATV channels by the receiving conditions. In this
case, try AUTO PRESET CH action again in the fine receiving conditions.
? When AUTO PRESET CH is activated where there is no TV signal input,"NO TV SIGNALS"
will appear on the display after the completion of channel scanning. [ADD/DELETE FUNCTION]

My TV 40RV525U changing channels, menus itself for few months ( I use antenna). my son tried to stop the channel scrolling by enter weird number into the channel to stop it scrolling such as 555, 777.. later, it turn on off by itself and unable to hold on a channel I
call Toshiba customer service and they ask money $25 for
troubleshooting but I denied since I do not want to waste money and
time.
Now, I found how to fix it myself.
In my case, something was wrong with the signal comes from the button control on the left side of the TV. ======================== What I did ======================== unplug the power cord. Remove back cover. Look into the motherboard ( biggest green at the center).
First,
I disconnect a connector on the motherboard come from the IR board that
receive the wireless signal control ( meaning the remote is disable). I turn on the TV, press on Menu button on the TV side. Menu is still scrolling.
I turn off TV, disconnect power cord and connect the IR connector back to the motherboard. I then disconnect the nearby connector that comes from the side control buttons.
Turn on the TV by remote, press menu button on the remote to check. The menu stays.
DONE.
I use electric tape to seal off the connector and let it hanging there. Close the TV back panel
I have been watching TV for 3 nights without menus/channels scrolling. NO AVAILABLE red message when watching DVD is no longer existed.
I'm assuming your Antenna is connected to your TV with a co-axial cable? If so, please make sure you have run the Analogue/Antenna/Air channel scan correctly:
1. Switch the TV on 2. Press the "MENU" button on the Curtis remote supplied with the TV. 3. Press the RIGHT arrow button five times to highlight the "Channel" menu 4. Press the"ENTER"button or the DOWN arrow once to open the "Channel" menu
The Air/Cable option should be highlighted.
5. Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow buttons to set the "Air/Cable" option to "Air" 6. Press the DOWN arrow to highlight "Auto Scan" 7. Press the "ENTER" button or the RIGHT arrow once to start the automatic channel scan.
When the scan has finished, the TV should automatically return to viewing mode. If not, just press the "EXIT" or "MENU" button on the remote to close the menu.
You also need to make sure the correct INPUT/SOURCE is selected on the TV:
1. Press the "SOURCE" button on the Curtis remote 2. Use the UP/DOWN arrows to highlight "TV" in the INPUT SOURCE menu 3. Press the "ENTER" button on the remote to select "TV" and close the INPUT SOURCE menu.
This should be all you need to do to watch your TV from an antenna source.
Please post back if you are still unable to get it to work and need further assistance.
I had the same problem, couldn't change the channels with the remote or on the side of the TV. This was for a Vizio 37"
Here is the fix:
1. Turn on TV
2. With remote, press the Menu Button
3. Go to Antenna Menu
4. Select Auto Search
Let it search, it could take several minutes. It may not finish to 100%, mine got stuck at 79% for 10 minutes. It's fine if that happens, go ahead and cancel.
5. It should be done, your remote will work perfect along with the TV channel buttons.
